A new project, "swing,sing", is a series of interviews with the characters to support the start of the project. This is a series of interviews with the characters of "swing,sing" to support the start of the project!

swing, singing" is a graffiti of youth amidst the aroma of jazz and coffee, set in the cafe "Primrose" in the resort town of Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture.

Violet Yaotome, a student at a music school in the city, transfers to a school in Karuizawa to escape the busy city life. When she arrives at her lodgings, the Primrose Cafe, she is asked by Momose Momo, the owner of the cafe, to help her save the cafe, which is on the verge of bankruptcy.

Violet and her friends take up instruments left behind by Momose's grandfather, the former owner, and play music as they aim for a loan on the café.

Aki Izumi, who has worked on numerous contents, will write the original story, Hirotaka Hayakawa, a composer who won the Record Award in 2018, will produce the music, Eito Higashiyama will design the characters, and Toriyaro, who will make his commercial debut with this work, will do the comic book adaptation.

Starting with the unveiling event to be held on May 29, 2022, the manga serialization will begin, and the digital release of the overall song "Harmony" and character songs will start simultaneously. In order to support this work, which has various live events scheduled in the future, Akiba Research Institute has started a series of interviews with the main characters and a present project!

The final character in the series is Ruri Kazamatsuri, a childhood friend of Yuri's who is usually quiet, but is more passionate about the guitar than others.

──Please introduce yourself.

Ruri Ruri Kazamatsuri. A junior at Shin-Karuizawa High School, born on September 9. Can you tell me at ......?

─ ─ I understand that you were at school outside of the prefecture until recently.

Ruri Yes, I went to high school in Yokohama. I was scouted at an ensemble contest in junior high school. But I guess it wasn't a good fit for me.

───But you are from around here, aren't you?

Ruri I'm not from Nagano, but from Annaka in Gunma. ...... but Yokogawa is the next town over, so I guess we're about the same. Kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot) and oyaki are both delicious.

─ I understand that you and Mr. Amou of the Primrose Cafe have known each other since childhood.

Ruri Yes, we have been friends since kindergarten. Dr. Tenba ...... No, Yuri's father is good friends with my father. He often comes to our hospital. We used to go camping together.

─ You are in your third year of high school, have you already decided on a career path?

Ruri: Not at all. If Yuri is going to college, I might go to college.

───Please tell us about your encounter with jazz and why you were attracted to it.

Ruri: Because my sister is a jazz singer. My father also likes jazz, and I don't know much about it, but when I practiced guitar with songs I knew, I ended up playing only jazz. But I'm not good at following sheet music. I like jazz because it's easy.

─ ─ Do you have any favorite recordings that you would like to recommend?

Ruri: "Full House" by Wes Montgomery. Everything about it is on a different level, from the way he plays and the amount of power he puts into it to the groove. I always listen to this on my way to and from school. Another one that everyone seems to know is "Take Me Home, Country Roads". It's not jazz, but I often listen to it when I go camping.

─ I heard that various players gather at the Primrose Cafe to perform. How do you like playing at the cafe?

Ruri - "It's fun." ...... I guess. I want to get better at guitar, so I play at practice places and cafes. But fun practice makes me better and better. Playing with others is more motivating than practicing alone.

─ ─ Do you have any ambitions or dreams for the future in terms of your musical activities?

Ruri Hmmm.........Not really. But I still want to get better at my instrument.

───Finally, could you give a comment to the readers of Akiba Research Institute?
