From Good Smile Company's plastic kit series "MODEROID" comes Gekiryuuger, a robot from the anime "Genki Bakudan Gambaruger!

GENKI EXPLODING GUNBALGAR" is an anime that was broadcast on TV from April 1992 to March 1993, and is the second in the "Eldoran Series" that shares the same world view as the hit "Absolutely Invincible Raijin-O".

Gekiryuuger, the last in MODEROID's "Genki Bakudan Gambaruger" series, which has been reviewed by Akiba Research Institute for some time, has finally been released, and Akiba Research Institute Editor A took up the challenge of reviewing it!

Following the first part, which introduced the appeal of Gekiryuuger by itself, the second part introduces the "Great Gambaluger," a super miracle combined form with MODEROID "Gambaluger" and "Revolgar!

At last, the last robot of "GENKI EXPLOSION GAMBALGAR" has been made into a plastic model! I tried making MODEROID "Gekiryuuger"! Part 1 [Editorial Review].

Transforming Revolgar!

First of all, let's start with the preparation of Rivolgar to be combined.

Disassemble the whole body once.

Connect the upper body and folded arms ......

Dock the rear wing parts.

Then deform both legs to become arm parts.

Combine the lion head on the chest and the waist armor. ......

The head is completed.

Gekiryuuger is also deformed!

Next, we are ready to combine Gekiryuger.

The whole body is also disassembled here.

The torso is further disassembled into smaller pieces!

Transform both arms into thigh parts.

Transform both legs and make them into geta parts.

Disassemble both shoulders. The second arm parts will be surplus parts.

The Great Ganbargar's face parts, which were stored in its back, are separated and ready to be combined!

Ganbulgar is also transformed!

Finally, here comes the Ganbulgar.

Once the parts that look good have been removed, it is left as Ganbargar in a straight combined state.

The whole body is also disassembled!

Transform the body like this: ......

After attaching the shoulder reinforcement parts, merge it with the body of Revolgar and Gekiryuuger.

Gashan!

In merging the body into Great Ganbargar, the parts that will serve as attachments are connected. This is a very important consideration, as the figure is huge and the joints are very stressed.

The joint parts of the arms and ......

The joints of the arms and the thighs are attached and ready to be assembled.

The upper body is ready.

Next, the lower body!

The leg part is completed by attaching the clogs of Gekiryuger to the legs of Gambaruger!

Then, Gekiryuger's arm parts, which will become thighs, and knee joint parts, which will become attachments, are combined to form ......

Legs are completed!

Dock the wings of Ganbulgar to the wings of Gekiryuuger!

Combine the lion head of Rivolgar with the face parts stored in the wings of Gekiryuuger to assemble the face. ......

Great Ganbaruger, complete!

The Great Ganbulgar is a complex process of assembling and disassembling each robot, just like a three-dimensional puzzle, but it is all the more satisfying when it is completed!

And it's just so big! It is about 1.5 times taller than each of the other robots. The huge size of the toys released by Tomy (now Takara Tomy) at the time of the cartoon broadcast is still talked about today, but the MODEROID version has a comparable impact.

Personally, I can't help but feel the romance of combined robots in the way the design of each robot has been preserved.

On the next page, we will show you examples of using parts that make the robot look even cooler and easier to play with!
