YuruCan△" is an outdoor girls' story serialized in the manga app "COMIC FUZ" (Houbunsha).
Set in Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures, the story depicts high school girls going camping and their daily lives. The realistic camp story, based on the author Afuro's own experiences and interviews, and the relaxed atmosphere depicted in the story have attracted many fans since its serialization began in 2015, and the original comics have sold over 7 million copies. In 2018, the first TV animation series, "Yuru Can△," was produced, followed by the spin-off "Heya Can△" in 2020 and "Yuru Can△ SEASON 2" in 2021, leading the ongoing outdoor boom.
Four years after the production was announced in 2018, the latest animated film, "YuruCan△," will finally arrive in theaters this summer.
The animation is produced by C-Station, which has worked on the TV series to date, and features the same familiar production team on screen, including Yoshiaki Kyogoku, who also directed "Yuru Can△" and "Yuru Can△ SEASON 2". The screenplay is written by Hitoshi Tanaka, the series writer for "Yuru Can△" and "Yuru Can△ SEASON2", and Mutsumi Ito, the series writer for "Heya Can△", who will work together to weave the story. The character designs are all based on the character drafts created for this film by the original creator, Afro, and Mutsumi Sasaki is in charge of character design, continuing on from the TV series. Thorough interviews were also conducted for the film, creating a detailed and luxurious atmosphere on the screen.
Music was produced by Akiko Tateyama, an indispensable member of the "YuruCan△ Sound" team. The music was recorded on an unprecedented scale to deliver a sound that can only be heard in a theater.
