New Transformers Toys] MPG "Trainbot Getsuei" In-Depth Review Part 2! Another step closer to the Heavy Allied Warrior Raiden!

The most robot-loving voice actor in the voice-over industry, Yasuyuki Tai, plays around with the latest toy toys and hobbies!

Yasuyuki Tai's Toys and Games Vol.25 MPG "Trainbot Getsuei" Part 2

Continuing from the previous installment, this time we will be reviewing the "Transformers" MPG series "Trainbot Getsuei".

In the last issue, we introduced the EF65 electric locomotive form, comparing it to the Diaclone version on which it was based.

Please enjoy the review!

The wheels can be seen on the back. Overall, the exterior of the vehicle can be seen here and there, and you can clearly see that it is a robot transformed from a blue train. This is the kind of thing I like about Transformers.

The facial modeling and paint job are very well done. I found Getsuei, in particular, to be very handsome in profile.

The raised lines of the chest are reproduced with movable panels. The silhouette is clean, but the density of detail on each part boasts a high amount of information.

The GETSUEI is known for its shoulder panels! It is as impressive as the cloak-like part in Shoki.

The simple lines and smart toes are another cool thing about Getsuei. I have liked this toe shape since the Diaclone version, so thank you very much for recreating it while also making it movable!

The mechanical structure can be seen from the rear, which is also attractive.

The legs must be packed with a lot of different things, but I'm amazed that you were able to make them so compact.

Comparison with the Diaclone version (right) in robot mode. The size of the two is so different that it is hard to tell (laughs). Anyway, the silhouette and the first impression is that they are very similar.

Here is a close-up of each part.

The head is a nice combination of the toy and anime versions of the time. The features of the chest and front armor are also well respected. I didn't notice it until I enlarged it.

Although the panels are facing differently, the arms have the same image. The arms themselves are all black, just like the original.

The reason why the face of the vehicle can be placed facing up is because the toy at that time would look like the picture on the right.

Of course, it was also reproduced in the animation, but it could have been folded up as a toy, but the developers were determined to make it face up at all costs. I felt the strong will of the developers.

I felt the strong will on the part of the developers to "make it face up!

Although the Night Laser has been detailed, the basic silhouette is not so different from that of the original (below).

Here it is! The toe of the Getsuei.

The Diaclone version (right) is the toe of the part that will become the heel when it merges into the Train Robo. Maybe they just wanted a certain amount of area, but it looked really cool to me. They have reproduced the shape of that toe as much as possible, while still being compact.

Now that the comparison is over, let's take a look at the range of motion.

The head has a ball joint connection. The head cannot rotate 360° due to the jaw hitting the back structure, but it is sufficient.

The shoulders benefit from a deformation mechanism, and the arms can be raised horizontally to almost straight up. When rotated and movable, the arms can of course be lifted to just above the ground.

The shoulder panels are also movable.

This shape avoids the elbow when moving it outward.

Roll rotation with two arms. Wrist can rotate with axis connection.

The elbow is double-jointed. It bends 180° with the benefit of deformation.

The night laser is a four-finger grip system with the projection inserted into the palm.

The waist can also swing slightly. This is the only one that can be rotated, as side armor and other parts of the body will bump against it.

The front skirt springs up, so the hip can be lifted forward about 90°. It cannot be lifted backward.

The side skirts are also movable, so the legs can be opened wide to the left and right.

There is roll rotation at the thighs.

Knees can be bent about 90 degrees.

The ankles, or rather the toes, are this large, but as you can see, they are movable. Even this slight movement is useful for posing.

The night laser can be folded and mounted on the back.

Let's take a look at some poses that take advantage of the movability!

I have the impression that the Transformers had quite a few meatball fights. The pose is very powerful.

Poses with this kind of action are also cool!

Whether it's the right way to shoot a gun or not, isn't it cool to shoot one-handed with the body on the side like this?

The shoulder panel is used as a shield, and the shooter bends down while shooting.

The bold pose with both arms and legs spread wide is also good!

Oh, and I can't believe how muscular her back is too. ...... Trainbot is the best .......

Getsuei: "Shoki, do you want to wrestle?"

Shoki: "Oh, I'll be your partner."

Shoki "I don't think this is the time to play with you.

Getsuei: "No matter, I guess we'll have to postpone the match.

You can almost hear the exchange of words in this pose.

The Transformers MPG series is as fun to pose as ever, but from here on out, you can enjoy it in your own hands.

There is one more form of the Transformers MPG series that I must introduce to you!

So I would like to tell you about the transformation to the other form!

Preparing to combine into the heavy fighter Raiden!

Transformation starts from the vehicle form. Open the ceiling panel.

Bend the body of the vehicle. If it were a Diaclone version, the deformation would have been completed, but this is an MPG, so we are still in the process of starting.

Split the rear part of the body into left and right parts, and merge only the part of Raiden's thighs into the left and right parts.

Fold the exterior around the thigh into the calf and close the part that was divided into left and right.

Deploy the heel parts from the sole and deploy the left and right panels to hide the mechanism to complete the deformation!

Raiden's right leg is completed!

The right side of the photo is the Diaclone version. As some of you may have already noticed, in the past, the thigh was the part that extended from the Kaen. This time, the thighs are extending from the side of the ghetto.

The silhouette is similar to the Diaclone version, but the density of detail is amazing. I would love to see a comparison of the combined Raiden form.

This is the second Trainbot. I'm anxious to see more, but that's all for now.

The release schedule and pre-order dates have been announced one after another, and I can't wait to get my hands on all of them, but there are other items in the "Transformers" lineup that are also drawing a lot of attention!

How far will the "Legacy" and "Studio" series go, not to mention the "Star Saber" and "Deathzallas"! And we can't take our eyes off the "Robot Base Project" of "Diaclone"!

I said to the person in charge of "Diabattles V2" at the time of its release that I would definitely buy a Robot Base when it came out, and I couldn't make good on that promise. I was looking forward to this item even without such a promise, so whether Raiden will stand on the ground first or the robot base will come first, I am looking forward to both!

Finally, let us bid farewell to you with a photo of the prototype Raiden that was on display at the Takararatomy Hobby Expo held on September 23-24, 2022.

So, please look forward to the next issue!
