Netflix's "Alice in Imaginary Country" Season 2 is available today! Behind-the-scenes footage and making-of cuts by Kento Yamazaki, Taho Tsuchiya, Nijiro Murakami and others are now available!
New videos, making cuts, and key art from the Netflix series "Alice in the Land of Imaginary Death" Season 2, which began streaming worldwide today, have been released.
Based on Haro Aso's manga (18 volumes), "Alice in the Land of the Rising Sun" is a survival drama series that reached the Top 10 in more than 70 countries after its Season 1 distribution in December 2020. Alice (Kento Yamazaki), Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya), and the others are suddenly transported to a mysterious world, where they continue to risk their lives in a "game" in order to return to their original world.
The stage for Season 2 has changed from "uninhabited Shibuya," where the previous season began, to a "botanized Tokyo" that makes full use of advanced VFX. What is the truth about the "Land of Imagine"? Finally, the final game begins.
A voluminous featurette video is now available for viewing!
A featurette film showing behind-the-scenes footage and tense making-of shots of the cast members at the shoot have just been released. The filming episode, which took place on a scale far beyond that of Season 1, is also noteworthy.
The impressive double artwork of Alice and Rabbit embracing each other in a powerful embrace.
The video is "amazing. It is truly something that has never been seen in a Japanese production before," begins Mr. Yamazaki with a word of confidence. The set in Shibuya has been scaled up from Season 1. As the director says, "Season 2 depicts the transformation of the world over time," and Mr. Yamazaki says, "The set was quite dilapidated and unrealistic, with moss and overgrown vegetation," the unknown scenes, such as "SHIBUYA109" rotting away in a vegetated Tokyo, are just like those in the film. The unknown scenes, such as the decaying "SHIBUYA109" in a vegetated Tokyo, surprise the viewers just as much as the characters who suddenly wander into the "Land of Imagination" in the film.
In the action scenes that follow, the action unfolds in accordance with the characteristics of each character. Yamazaki spoke of the making of the car action scene, which he said was "the largest blockade in the history of the film." "Being able to do car action in familiar scenery is something only possible in "Alice in Wonderland,"" he said with a sincere smile.
The fight to the death in Shibuya is one of the best scenes in the film. The director said, "We are fighting a battle of life and death, but these people are not warriors, soldiers, or heroes; they are really ordinary people in Tokyo, so it would be interesting to see them as heroes who stand up to put an end to the chaos when they finally gather in Shibuya. Tsuchiya said, "I was able to take action that makes use of the memories and emotions I have accumulated on set.
At the end of the video, Ms. Tsuchiya reiterated the highlights of the film, saying, "I think the film depicts how people can live together and what is important in an energetic worldview. Mr. Yamazaki concluded with the strong words, "I hope you will enjoy watching "Alice in the Land of the Rising Sun," which has been scaled up from Season 1.
The new "Land of the Dead" has finally been unveiled, and we can't take our eyes off of it.
