Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V" will be live-action in the Philippines in 2023! Producer Shinichiro Shirakura's comment has arrived!

The TV series/anime "Super Electromagnetic Machine VOLTES V (Five)" will be broadcast on Philippine terrestrial TV in 2023 as a live-action remake TV series "VOLTES V LEGACY (original title)".

The robot animation "Super Electromagnetic Machine VOLTES V" was broadcast on TV from 1977 to 1978. An invasion force from the planet Boazan, led by Prince Heinel, flies to Earth from distant space. The main character Kenichi, the three brothers Go, Ippei Mine, and Megumi Oka are in a desperate crisis, and they fight against the Boazan aliens by boarding the "Super Electromagnetic Machine Vortez V," which was secretly built and five machines combine to form a single robot. It is a story of parent-child separation, shocking developments surrounding the main character, confrontation with half-brothers, resistance to oppression, revolution, and liberation.

The story is a unique and ambitious attempt to tackle the issue of discrimination through the setting of the planet Boazan, an enemy where "those with horns reign as the aristocracy and rule over those without horns.

The popularity of "Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V" was not limited to Japan; it also crossed the ocean to the Philippines, where it was extremely popular at the time, and the entire Filipino population, including children, went wild about it. Many Filipinos can still sing the anime's OP theme song, "Song of VOLTES V," written by Mitsuko Horie, in Japanese, which shows the popularity of the anime in the Philippines.

This time, after more than 45 years, the long-awaited live-action remake and TV series adaptation of the anime "Super Electromagnetic Machine Voltes V" has been decided.

Produced by GMA Network, the largest terrestrial TV station in the Philippines, it will be revived as "VOLTES V LEGACY" (original title).

The live-action remake will be directed by Mark A. Reyes ("Encantadia" (TV drama/2016-2017), "Moment of Love" (movie/2006), and many others), who is a talented and experienced live-action filmmaker in the Philippines. Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega, as well as talented actors Carla Abellana and Dennis Trillo.

I would like to thank the people of the Philippines who have loved "VOLTES V" for a long time and have overcome many trials and tribulations to make this huge project a reality. On the other hand, it is not true that "Voltes V" has been completely forgotten ...... in Japan. The "VOLTES V" stream was classified as a live-action series from "Battle Fever J" (1979) through the later program "Fighting General Deimos" (1978). This is what we now call the Super Sentai series.

The times may have changed, but the basic structure of the series - five chosen young men using five combined robots to confront an overwhelming invader - has not. The DNA of "VOLTES V" has been passed down from generation to generation as one of Japan's leading tokusatsu hero series and continues to fascinate children around the world. However. While the series has become more sophisticated with each passing generation, something important may have been lost. The "VOLTES V LEGACY" taught me this.
