The "Akiba Research Institute Starring Female Voice Actor Award" to determine the brightest female voice actress of 2022 started on January 12, 2023.

This is an annual project in which the female voice actors who played major characters in anime broadcasted in 2022 will be chosen as the most shining female voice actors of the year.

A total of 34 female voice actresses who ranked in the top 10 in each of the winter, spring, summer, and fall 2022 anime popularity polls have entered the contest.
