In commemoration of the release of the "Shin Masked Rider" movie, it has been decided that the 1971 "Masked Rider" Masterpiece Selection will be broadcast. Ten episodes selected by Hideaki Anno, the scriptwriter and director of "Shin Masked Rider," will be broadcast every week from February 7, 2023 (Tuesday).

Masked Rider" is the origin of the Masked Rider series, a TV drama that began broadcasting on April 3, 1971 and ran for 98 episodes until February 10, 1973. It is a masterpiece in which a life-size hero was born from an evil organization called "Masked Rider": "Shocker," an evil secret society that plans to conquer the world, and "Takeshi Hongo," who is captured by Shocker and becomes "Masked Rider" as a result of remodeling surgery.

This work, which was first broadcast on Mainichi Broadcasting System in 1971, will be rebroadcast in the place where it all began.

<Synopsis>
Takeshi Hongo, a young scientist and genius racer, is converted into a human by Shocker. Just before the brain remodeling surgery, Hongo succeeds in escaping and confronts Shocker as a masked rider. On the way, Hayato Ichimonji appears as a new masked rider in place of Hongo, who left Japan in pursuit of Shocker. He fought against the Shocker's top leaders. After the return of Takeshi Hongo, the Double Riders stand up against the onslaught of Shocker.
