MODEROID "Dioja" Review Part 2] This is the style of the strongest robot! Taiyuki thoroughly reviews this masterpiece kit, which combines combining and action in a perfect way!

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, the 71st episode of "Seiyu Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Model Making! Let's start the 71st issue!

Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Model Weekend #71 MODEROID "Dioja" Part 2

So, following the first part, which introduced three robots, let's introduce the combined Dioja!

Mito "Croos! TRIANGLE!"

Remove the back wing and the Dioja head parts.

From the remaining aethreader body: ......

Once the body is split into upper and lower sections, remove both arms by the internal frame.

Stow the thighs on the shin side and extend the toes down. (Actually, the family crest mark on the chest should be removed at this stage, but this time it is left as it is in order to reproduce the scene in the play.)

Attach the lower part from the abdomen to the back of the Ace Redder. This completes the preparation of Aethreader for merging.

Aoider starts with the "shape-oriented parts" of the legs removed. Remove the spade markings on the chest, wings, and parts from the head to the arms.

First, pull downward the arms to which the Aoider's legs are connected. Next, flip the Aoider upside down and open both legs wide to the left and right.

While rotating the hip joint part of the aoider, position the arms of the dioja. The Aoider's legs are then retracted and ready to combine.

Remove both Cobaltor forearms, head, wings and chest markings.

Remove the armor from the Cobaltor waist, turn it upside down and extend the toes. Then attach the dioja leg armor parts in place of the Cobaltor forearms.

Split into left and right. Rotate the toes to the combined position.

Reattach the waist armor of the Kovalter to the position of the knees of the Dioja and attach the calf and heel cover parts.

Connect the left and right parts of the Kovalter with the Dioja hip joint parts to complete the preparation for merging.

Now the three mecha are ready to combine! Now it's time to combine!

Aoider from under Aethreader ......

Merging!

The Cobaltor is combined with the Aoider's chest (Dioja's waist)!

The three wing units can be partially replaced ......

Combined into one wing!

Attach the combined wing to the Aethreader's waist.

Attach the wrists for the dioja: ......

Remove the armor from both sides of the Ace Redder's head.

Then attach the movable armor on both shoulders, different from the one mentioned earlier.

Then attach the decoration to the back of the dioja's head: ......

If you flip the crest on the chest over (actually, flip it over before the Aoider merges)

Mito: "Dioja!"

Dioja is complete! This is a style that is hard to find in today's robots! It is truly the strongest robot.

The coloring of the three separate units was perfect, so naturally the coloring in this form is also almost perfect! The color changes caused by the magic of the animation cannot be reproduced, so if you decide to fix it in this form, you may as well paint it. At this point, there is no "color-changing material" that can be used in plastic kits, so it is a good idea to paint it!

The lower half of the Aethreader and the combined wing on its back are somewhat toy-like, which I like.

However, when viewed from the side, it is thicker than you see it, and the stand connection joint cannot be used. So, for those who want to finish it smartly, we have prepared parts for that purpose.

The overlapping wing parts are replaced with a "single piece". This gives it a more anime-like shape! A nice consideration that responds to both toy and anime lovers! And now you can connect the stand to the joint holes in the waist.

Now let's check out the details of Dioja from here.

The armor on Ace Redder's head has been moved to the shoulders and a large decoration has been added, giving the head a very different look. The smaller head gives the figure a more massive appearance.

The chest is almost the same as the Aethreader's, but the color of the Aoider's fuselage has changed the impression.

From the abdomen to the waist, the Aoider's abdomen and chest have been turned upside down. You would not notice that there is an upside-down robot here. The blocky parts on both sides of the waist expose the ankle parts of the Cobaltor. I was surprised that the ankles of Kovalter, which would not fit in the Aoida, were processed in this way! I was surprised.

The ankles of the dioja formed the powerful chest of the Kovalter. As you can see, they are very stable.

Some of the calf cover parts are color-coded with stickers. It is appreciated that the heel cover parts are also connected with mechanical-like split lines.

The head is movable, as is the Ace Threader, so it moves well.

The shoulder armor is movable and can be raised to a certain degree, so it is possible to raise the arms up. It can be lifted horizontally with room to about 90 degrees.

The elbow is about a little less than 90 degrees. Roll rotation with the second arm.

The wrists are ball-jointed, so they can snap and rotate. It is also easy to replace the wrists with those of other expressions.

Despite the design of the waist, the ingenious joints allow the legs to open back and forth like this.

Furthermore, thanks to the movable hip joint connection, the legs can be lowered separately to the left and right, as shown here.

The left and right leg openings are quite excellent.

Rolling rotation on the thighs. Thanks to this, the figure can also stand without legs.

Knee joints are light. If the calf cover is removed, it would probably bend a little more, but the shape would be a little poor, so I decided to enjoy it as it is. Roll rotation is also possible at the knee joint.

The ankles also move surprisingly well. It can move forward and backward, turn sideways (bends deeply inward), and rotate.

You can pose the figure in this many different action poses while still being able to combine the figures.

The ace saber, spear axe, and hammer stick can be combined by replacing some parts,

Dioja Javelin.

The hand-held weapons of the three robots are joined together to form the Javelin, which is easily longer than Dioja's height.

Thanks to the Javelin's length and the mobility of its arms, it can be held in both hands as shown here.

Using the stand, you can enjoy posing the figure even in a somewhat unreasonable position.

The long weapon looks very powerful when held in this pose.

Of course, the "Thunderbolt Sword" is also included. The shield that transforms from the chest is included as a separate part. When holding the shield, you can attach the part you see on the chest.

Joint parts can be attached to the shield to reproduce the Thunderbolt Sword Battou.

Mito "Thunderbolt Sword!

Attach the blade to the handle of the Thunderbolt Sword and hold it.

Mito "Receive my blade of justice!"

Mito "Denkou Raitouryoukakurashii!"

You can also have them hold the Thunderbolt Sword with both hands.

Now, again, we have quite a few images so far, so I'll show you just a little "plus a little effort". Silver for the weapon. I only painted the crest gold.

After all, the family crest should be gold! The crest of hollyhock is also gold in the original "Mito Komon".

The blades of the Javelin and the Thunderbolt Sword were painted silver. The shinier the blade is, the more "blade" it looks, so if you want to paint it easily, you should paint this part.

I should have painted the iron ball part of the cobaltor with "iron" or something similar! The markings on the chest also look good in gold. The yellow parts should not be painted all in gold, otherwise it will look a bit gaudy. Please think carefully about the color selection and the parts to be painted.

Since "Saikyou Robo Dioja" is basically a complete story, it would not be a big problem even if it is broadcasted with one cool interval in between, so I would be happy if it is suddenly broadcast again on TV. For the younger generation, the robot animation series broadcast in the 1980s will probably look fresh and new.

The actors who appear in the series are all amazing, and the fact that many of them are still active more than 40 years after the series was broadcast gives me a real sense of energy.

Speaking of energy, on January 14 and 15, 2023, Good Smile Company announced new items for their "Mecha Smile" brand. That's 40 items! This is going to require a lot of furious energy on the part of both the makers and the buyers in the future!

From the lineup of Diojo-style royal robots this time is the combined robot "GOLION (VOLTRON)". This makes me wonder if we will see more kits of robots that were aired around the same time as this one!

Incidentally, until the other day, a survey was being conducted on the commercialization of the highly anticipated plastic kit series "MODEROID" and the finished toy "THE GOSEI".

I, you see, had a name that I had to write here! The name is

DANCOUGA NOVA.

The voting period has already ended, but I would appreciate your precious vote next time!

Please, please, please!
