AnimeJapan2023 Special】Tatsuo Suzuki was excited at ringside! The Big Sight was shaken by the collaboration match between "Kengan Asura" and "DDT Pro-Wrestling" - Real Fist Fight!

AnimeJapan 2023, one of the world's largest anime events, will be held over two days from March 25 (Sat.) to 26 (Sun.), 2023. From among the booths, Akiba Research Institute will introduce some of the booths that caught our attention!

This time, we will introduce the booth of "ADK Emotions," a company that produces a variety of anime.
The highlight of the booth at AnimeJapan 2023 will be a collaborative match between the Netflix exclusive "Kengan Ashura" and DDT, a professional wrestling organization. Kengan Ashura" (original story by Sandorovich Yabako
, illustrations by TERUMEON ) is an intense battle action manga series that boasts the No. 1 readership on the website "Ura Sunday" and the comic app "Manga One".

The second season of the anime is expected to follow the first season in 2019, and on March 26, 2023 (Sunday), a
total of 14 wrestlers will appear in a wrestling ring set up in the booth. Three matches were held in the booth.

The
first match was Soji Shoda & Keigo Nakamura vs.

The second match was Jun Akiyama & Tetsuya Endo & Yuya Takaga vs HARASHIMA & Kazusada Higuchi & Yuki Ishida.

Both matches were speedy and entertaining, as is typical of DDT, and attracted not only wrestling fans who came to the venue but also many anime fans who were watching wrestling up close for the first time.

In the third match, which could be called the main event of the day, voice actor Tatsuo Suzuki, who plays the role of Ouma Tokita, the main character of "Kengan Ashura," appeared on stage. He was seated in the audience and watched the match from up close.

The third match featured Konosuke Takeshita & MAO vs. Yukio Natani & Hideki Okatani.
Before the match, Yukio Natani said, "DDT's parent company is Cyber Agent, which is also the parent company of Abema TV (which operates the Internet TV service ABEMA), so why are they collaborating with "Kengan Asura," which is a Netflix exclusive? Make 'Kengan Ashura' available on ABEMA too!" He then gave a microphone performance. MAO challenged him, saying, "Do something with your ability! He challenged the audience.

Thus, the curtain rose on the match of the century between the Netflix team (Konosuke Takeshita and MAO) and the ABEMA team (Yukio Naya and Hideki Okatani).
Mr. Suzuki, who was watching wrestling up close for the first time, commented in all sincerity that he had much to learn about acting, such as how to breathe, from witnessing the wrestlers' no-holds-barred clashes, but when the match began, he was completely excited.

The Netflix team won in the end, despite the heated competition.

MAO, who finished the match victorious, said, "ABEMA's army is pretty good, isn't it? In the era of big subs, Netflix and ABEMA are the best! Thank you for today. Here was a historic reconciliation between the Netflix and ABEMA armies.

However, Gouta Ihashi interrupted the event! He tried to destroy the standing statue of the Ten Demon Snakes Ouma, but when Mr. Suzuki threatened him with Ouma's voice, Ihashi was cowed.

Then Takeshita, MAO, and Okatani attacked simultaneously, and the three were able to score a splendid three-count!

The destruction of the standing statue of "Kengan Ashula" was avoided.

After all the matches were over, Mr. Suzuki said, "This is the best entertainment with people clashing with each other. (I hope I can make the most of it, as there is a great deal to be gained (from the performances).
The audience was in a mood of complete victory, and Mr. Suzuki announced the happy news that "Kengan Asura Season 2" will be distributed on Netflix from September 2023.
According to Mr. Suzuki, "The staff was so enthusiastic that the film was not coming up at all, but that's how much effort we put into it. We put the same amount of passion into our work as the matches you saw in the ring today, so please look forward to it! He expressed his enthusiasm.

Finally, Takeshita said, "Now that Suzuki-san has one foot in DDT Pro-Wrestling, I look forward to the next time he steps into the ring sometime. I'll be back from the U.S. then, too" (Takeshita is also a member of AEW, an American professional wrestling organization). (Tatsuo Suzuki is a member of AEW, an American professional wrestling organization.) In the near future, a dream match between Tatsuo Suzuki and Konosuke Takeshita may become a reality!

The audience's applause and cheers echoed throughout the AnimeJapan venue for this special match, which was tumultuous in many ways.
