The first anime adaptation of "Ooku" on Netflix! Cast includes Mamoru Miyano and directed by Noriyuki Abe of "Yu Yu Hakusho" fame!

O-oku" will be adapted into an anime for the first time as a Netflix series. The cast and crew, including Mamoru Miyano, and scene cuts have been revealed.

O-oku," a masterpiece by Fumi Yoshinaga, depicts the Edo period when the sexes were reversed, and has sold more than 7 million copies (paper + electronic). It has been serialized in the shoujo manga magazine "Melody" since 2004 and reached its final installment in the February 2021 issue (19 volumes).


This award-winning work, which is also known for its live-action drama series, has finally announced its first anime adaptation, scheduled for exclusive distribution as a Netflix series in the summer of 2023.


The film will be directed by Noriyuki Abe, who has worked on "Yu Yu Hakusho" and "Arslan Senki," and Studio Deen will be in charge of animation production. The cast has also been announced, including Mamoru Miyano as Arimoto Banrikoji, Eriko Matsui as Iemitsu Tokugawa, and Yuki Kaji as Tamaei.
