Spring Anime "Jigokuraku" Episode 1 Synopsis & Scene Cuts for 4/1 Broadcast! MAPPA's Anime Adaptation of "JUMP+"'s Inspiring Work!

The first episode of the TV anime "Jigokuraku," which will start airing on April 1 (Sat), has been revealed with a synopsis and advance scene cuts.

Based on a popular manga series (13 volumes) serialized in "Shonen Jump+" by Yuji Garai, "Jigokuraku" is a story about a group of powerful shinobi, Gebaimaru, who have been sentenced to death. Sentenced to death, the strongest Shinobi, Gebaimaru, and other "sinners" fight together with the "executioner of beheadings" who watches over them, in order to return alive from an island infested with unknown creatures. MAPPA is in charge of animation production.

TV anime "Jigokuraku" will start airing on April 1, 2023 (Sat) at 23:00 on TV Tokyo affiliate and other stations. The first episode's synopsis and scene cuts have been released.

Episode 1 "The Dead Convict and the Executioner
Sagiri Yamada Asaemon, an executioner "Gosama-go", meets a dead criminal at the execution site.
He is a cold-blooded shinobi with a superhuman body who has killed many people. He says to Sagiri, "I want you to kill him.

＜Synopsis
The time is the end of the Edo period.
Gebaimaru, formerly the strongest Shinobi in Ishikakure, is taken prisoner as a loose Ninja and becomes a mortal criminal,
He is told that he will be exonerated if he brings back "the elixir of immortality" from an island rumored to be the paradise of the Pure Land.
In order to reunite with his beloved wife, Gabaimaru heads for the island where the elixir is said to be located, together with the beheading executioner "Yamada Asaemon Sagiri".
When they land on the island, they are confronted by a group of dead criminals who are also in search of the elixir.
They are also confronted by unknown creatures lurking on the island, artificial and eerie stone statues, and the Immortals who rule the island. ......
Can Gabaimaru find the elixir and return home alive on this mysterious island?
