In the newly announced "Monster Hunter Now," players take on the role of a hunter and embark on a realistic adventure to hunt real-world monsters.
Hunting powerful monsters sometimes requires teamwork, and hunters can enjoy the experience of hunting together. The game can be played on a smartphone, so players can easily invite their friends to join them.
The game is designed to be enjoyed at different paces by hunters who have enjoyed the "Monster Hunter" series for many years, those who have not played the series much recently, and newcomers to the series.For example, players can use paintballs to mark monsters they encounter while rushing to work or school or when the app is closed, and then hunt them when they have time, all with no effort on their smartphones.
It is also built on Niantic's Lightship platform, which utilizes cutting-edge location-based and AR technologies.
The game will be distributed by Niantic under license from Capcom, and is scheduled to launch worldwide on the App Store and Google Play in September 2023 with strong support from Capcom.
An invitation-only beta test (closed beta test) of the title is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, April 25. Those interested in participating in the test can register at monsterhunternow.com, so be sure to check it out.
