Ultraman Special Stage Report on the "Ultraman R/B the Movie" Production Announcement & "TDG Project" Announcement to Re-Enliven the Heisei Trilogy! In Tokyo Comic-Con 2018

The latest in the Ultraman series, "Ultraman R/B (Rube)," is making its way to the screen.

The "Ultraman Special Stage" was held at Tokyo Comic-Con 2018, one of the world's largest pop culture events, at Makuhari Messe on November 30, 2018. On stage, "Ultraman R/B the Movie: Select! Crystal of Bonds" and the new project "TDG Project" to enjoy the Heisei trilogy in various forms, new Ultraman developments were unveiled at once.

New Ultraman & Zeedo also joined the project! We can't help but have high expectations for "R/B the Movie!

Ultraman R/B" is a special effects drama that has been airing since July 2018, featuring sibling heroes for the first time in the Ultraman series. The older brother "Minato Katsumi" (played by Hirata Yuya) is Ultraman Rosso, and the younger brother "Minato Isami" (played by Koike Ryosuke) is Ultraman Bull, each transforming into a different Ultraman, which has attracted much attention.

Yuya Hirata and Ryosuke Koike appeared at the production announcement of the theatrical version of the film.

Speaking to the fans and press in attendance, Hirata said with a smile, "I am happy that we have finally reached the announcement. We are also looking forward to the release of the film.

Since the story of this film is a continuation of the TV series currently being broadcast, Mr. Koike urged the audience to "watch the TV series as much as you can" to prepare for the film.

He also said that the bonds between siblings and family members established in the TV series are very important in this film. In the film version, these bonds, as well as many other bonds, will be depicted, so the drama aspect of the film is also worth watching.

It was also announced that Ultraman Jeeed/Asakura Riku (played by Tatsuomi Hamada) from the previous "Ultraman Jeeed" would appear in the movie version, and the audience was filled with joy.

Regarding his collaboration with the senior Ultraman, he said, "(Mr. Hamada) is an Ultraman geek, and he also loves "R/B." Maybe that's why he has a slight admiration for us. Maybe that's why he looked at us with some admiration (laughs). I didn't feel like he was a senior. We became good friends," said Koike. We look forward to the co-starring of the old and new Ultraman.

And since the movie version will feature two new heroes, Ultraman Groove and Ultraman Tregear, they appeared on stage as well!

Hirata-san said, "Both are cool. It is typical of the theater version that something new will be created", he commented.

The surprise information is not over yet. When it was announced that Takeshi Tsuruno, who played Ultraman Dyna/Aska Shin in "Ultraman Dyna," would sing the theme song for the movie version, fans, especially those who knew him back then, gasped with excitement, "Wow! and a gasp went up from the crowd, especially from fans who knew the character back then.

Mr. Tsuruno dashingly appeared on stage and said, "I was asked to sing this song to enliven the younger generation. (I was given a dream (from my Ultraman), and I want to pass it on forever," he said enthusiastically, bringing the curtain down on the event.

Ultraman R/B Select the Movie! Kizuna no Krystal" is scheduled for a nationwide roadshow on March 8, 2019 (Friday).
