SQUARE ENIX announced that the cumulative worldwide shipments and download sales of "NieR: Automata" for PlayStation 4, Steam and Xbox One (*1) have surpassed 3.5 million units, and cumulative shipments and download sales of the PS4 version in Japan and other Asian regions have surpassed 1 million units (*2). The cumulative worldwide shipments and download sales of "NieR: Automata" (NieR Automata) exceeded 3.5 million units, and the cumulative shipments and download sales of the PS4 version in Japan and Asia exceeded 1 million units.

Produced by Square Enix and developed by Platinum Games, "NieR: Automata" is an action RPG set in the far future, when mankind has fled to the moon in the face of overwhelming force from alien "machine life forms". Players take on the role of "2B," a member of the newly organized android unit "Yoruha," and throw themselves into a fierce battle to take back the Earth.
