Burn! Microcosm! Bronze Saint and Dark Saint battle it out in the 2019 summer anime "Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac" teaser video released!

A teaser trailer has been released for the 3DCG anime "Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac," which will be available on Netflix from summer 2019.

Saint Seiya" is a TV anime based on the manga by Masami Kurumada. Since the age of myth, the Saints have served the goddess Athena and fought against evil for the sake of justice and peace. Revived in the modern age, they wear the cross-shaped protector of the zodiac and engage in fierce battles against the gods.
The TV anime series broadcast in the 1980s depicted Seiya of the constellation Pegasus and other boys fighting with passionate friendship and a heart for justice, and won the hearts of readers of both sexes. The series also features a wide variety of designs for the saintly garments and numerous beautiful characters.

This "Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac" will be produced as a full 3DCG animation, and will include the "Galactic Wars" to "Silver Saint" sections of the original manga. It will be directed by Yoshiharu Ashino, who also directed "Cross Ange: The Angel and the Dragon Dance.

The one-minute teaser trailer released this time depicts the activities of Seiya and the other bronze combatants who awakened as the Pegasus saints after displaying their intense power and acquiring the holy robe.
Also, his interaction with the goddess Athena and his battle with the dark saints. Seiya's special move "Pegasus Meteor Fist" and other special moves performed by the main characters are depicted one after another with high quality direction and action, just like in a movie.

The manga "Saint Seiya" was created by Mr. Masami Kurumada over 30 years ago. With the support of his devoted fans, it has become a very popular work around the world. We are truly grateful to have been a part of it.
About five years ago, Netflix invited us to further expand the possibilities of "Saint Seiya" by utilizing their platform. With the cooperation of Mr. Kurumada, we decided to reboot the series as a CG animation with the aim of passing on the story not only to the fans who have supported the series, but also to the younger generation.
It was a great challenge for Toei Animation to recreate the charm of the TV series that had been completed in the past. However, we are thrilled to be able to deliver this film to audiences around the world. We sincerely hope that fans old and new will enjoy this work as much as we have truly enjoyed being involved in its production.
