The science fiction anime series "Ghost in the Shell" has been a huge hit not only in Japan but also overseas and continues to influence many creators. It was announced that "GHOST IN THE SHELL SAC_2045," the latest in the series, will be distributed exclusively on Netflix, the world's largest SVOD (subscription-based online streaming service), in 2020.

This is the latest film following Mamoru Oshii's "GHOST IN THE SHELL", "Innocence", Kenji Kamiyama's "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" series, Kazuya Kise's "Ghost in the Shell: Arise" series and "Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie".

Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045" to be produced this time will be newly reborn as full 3DCG animation instead of conventional cell animation.
Production I.G. and director Kenji Kamiyama of the "Ghost in the Shell: STAND ALONE COMPLEX" series will team up with director Shinji Aramaki, who has been bringing Japanese 3DCG animation to anime fans around the world with the "APPLESEED" series, and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS.
Following the "ULTRAMAN" anime, both directors and both studios will work together on this production.

In addition, a visual depicting the main character, Motoko Kusanagi, was also unveiled at the time of this announcement.
Expect a new generation of "Ghost in the Shell" to be created by a double-director team.
