Pokémon GO Pokémon Evolving with "Set as Sidekick" [Diary of a Strategy].
Normally, in Pokémon GO, you collect "candy" to evolve Pokémon, but in fact, some Pokémon cannot evolve on their own. Here are some Pokémon that evolve in a special way and how to do it.
What kind of Pokémon evolve specially?
As an example, I will show you a Himbus that I got.
Look under the Evolution column. Did you notice that there are some notations that other Pokémon do not have?
Would it be a little easier to understand if you compare it with TATSBAY?
Yes, it is. Himbus has "Let's make it a buddy!" in Hinbas. I don't see any notation on Tatsubay's page.
Hinbas has 100 pieces of candy plus the requirement to set it as a partner and walk 20 kilometers to evolve.
Hinbas evolves in a different way, so I'm going to work hard to fulfill the conditions.
Eevee
As I introduced in the article "Pokemon GO", you can evolve Eevee into Eefy by setting it as your partner, walking 10 km or more, and setting the timing of evolution to "daytime".
Pokemon GO" Special Research: Evolving Eevee into Blackie at night [Strategy Diary].
As described in the article in the "Pokémon GO" section, you can evolve Eevee into Blackie by setting the timing of evolution to "night".
Although Eevee does not have the "Set as Sidekick~" notation like Himbus, it actually evolves in this special way.
Currently, these are the only three that have the evolution condition of walking a certain distance with "set as a buddy" in this way (*as of December 2018).
How to do it? What are the precautions?
After setting a Pokémon as a Sidekick, play as it is for a while.
If you have set another Pokémon as your partner, change it after walking to a distance where you can get candy.
If you change it midway, you will have to restart from 0 km again.
In the case of Himbus, you cannot press the "Evolve" button unless its gauge is full. This is safe for any timing of walking, but this is not the case for Eevee.
Evolution of Eevee is only possible after 10 kilometers. Until you receive a notification at the top of the screen saying, "Eevee found candy!" and walk persistently until you receive a notification at the top of the screen.
Be careful! Evolve "as is" with a set buddy.
Even after walking the designated distance, don't feel comfortable removing Eevee from your sidekick list. Evolve the Pokémon while keeping it as your partner.
Make sure your network is secure!
Avoid evolving Pokémon when the network is unstable, such as when you can no longer find a GPS signal or when it keeps loading in circles.
Conclusion
We have introduced three Pokémon for which the evolution condition is to travel together as a partner. It takes some effort to fulfill the conditions, but you will become attached to them when you walk with them.
We may see more Pokémon with this kind of special evolution in the future.
Be sure to know how to evolve and what to look out for with Eevee and Himbus, which can actually evolve! (Sasahime)
