Switch "Darius Cosmic Collection" to include multiple game versions! AC version will also include online ranking and replay features!

Taito announced that several additional game versions will be included in some of the "Darius Cosmic Collection" titles for the Nintendo Switch, scheduled for release on Thursday, February 28, 2019.

The "Darius" series of side-scrolling shooters first appeared as an arcade game in 1986, and was popular for its innovative design at the time, which included a large chassis with three interconnected screens and a sound system with bass speakers built into the bench seat. The boss characters in the game, which were based on the motif of aquatic creatures such as coelacanths and sperm whales, are still popular today as synonymous with "Darius.

Darius Cosmic Collection" includes four arcade titles, including "Darius" and "SAGAIA," the first overseas port of "Darius II. In addition, the special limited edition includes the four titles in the standard edition, plus five titles that have been released as home video games, including titles that have not been released in Japan or are currently difficult to obtain, for a total of nine titles. Included in the package are an arrangement CD, a collection of official materials, and a miniature acrylic marquee.
