Cygames' contents gather! Report on the real event "CygamesFes2018

Cygames held the real event "CygamesFes2018" at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, from December 15 to 16, 2018.

This large-scale event brought together all of Cygames' content, which distributes many popular smartphone games. Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2018, a world tournament competing for $1,000,000 in prize money (Hall 1), the Gramble Fantasy real event "GBF Fest 2018" (Halls 3-6), and a variety of content in Halls 1-6 of Makuhari Messe. The festival was packed with Cygames' content. Despite the chilly weather, the venue was packed with many fans looking forward to the event.

This time, the author, a first-time attendee of this event, will focus on "GBF Fest 2018" and introduce the attractions and exhibits that caught my attention in each area.

Four Starry Beasts Welcome You!

Upon entering the venue, visitors were first greeted by giant air balloons of the Star Beasts "Colossus," "Tiamat," "Leviathan," and "Yggdrasil. The quality of the balloons was so impressive that some visitors stopped in their tracks, feeling as if they had just stepped into the world of GBF, and their spirits rose.

Passing through the gate, the familiar crystal appeared on the gacha screen, which we are always grateful for! Some visitors couldn't help but grin at the hard-to-please presentation. Around the crystal, there were many familiar weapons that appear in the film.

On display were the "Bahamut Dagger Futurus," "Crimson Finger," "Chevalier Sword Magna," "Gambantein," "Mulgres," "Tiamat Bolt Magna," "Graciezer," and "True Scythe," all probably actual size. They are highly finished replicas with gorgeous decorations in every detail.

Some of the swords, in particular, were made of acrylic material (?). The blades are sculpted with acrylic material (?) and illuminated to create a fantastic atmosphere. Fans seemed to be taking a good look at them, and some were eagerly taking pictures of them with their smart phones and cameras.

Next, we went to the fair booths decorated with lanterns. The booth was a recreation of a shrine festival, with an omikoshi (portable shrine) at the entrance, stalls spread out behind it on both sides, and a torii (gateway to the shrine) in the back. The stalls offer six standard festival attractions, including "Million's Ittokiri Challenge," "Thorn's Bow Shooting," "Soshie's Throwing Fan," and "Anima Sukui," each of which offers a special prize for playing, as well as special prizes for completing the game. Many people seemed to be enjoying themselves while at the same time playing seriously.

Jewel Resort & GAME Play Area

This area is a recreation of the "Jewel Resort," the casino boat in the game. Visitors can play "Bingo," "Double Up," and "Multibattle," and receive coins for challenging games. Participants' laughter and lamentations could be heard from the space where they could experience that atmosphere in the game in real life.

There were display panels looking back at Cygames' content and a photo corner with Uma Musume and other products.

On the day of the event, "warm mailer pocket warmers" were distributed at Kaihin-Makuhari Station, the closest station to the venue. The "warm mailer pocket warmers," which visitors did not expect to find at an official station, made them feel warm and fuzzy.
