As many as 29,986 votes were cast in this year's poll. In the top 10 ranking, while works with original stories and sequels were popular, original works also did well. The winner by a landslide was "Kemurikusa," the first new TV animation in a year from director Tatsuki, who captivated many fans with his TV animation "Kemono Friends. Thanks in part to a fan-centered call for votes, the film garnered as many as 13,000 votes. Even with the call for votes, it is rare for a work to receive close to a majority of the total votes cast, and it can be said to be the No. 1 work of the winter anime series in terms of attention.

In second place, "The Promised Neverland," which was in ninth place in the previous announcement, rose sharply. Based on the comic of the same title serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, the series has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. The long-awaited anime adaptation of the manga has been a hit with fans, and its popularity is evident in the results.

It seems that many fans are looking forward to the new anime after a three-year absence.

The top eight were "The Bride of the Five Equals," which drew much attention after the announcement of the star-studded voice cast playing the five beautiful girls; "Kemono Friends 2," which spins a new tale; "Watashi ni Tenshi ga Mita Hakeru! which is based on Square Enix's popular smartphone game "Grimnotes" with more than 17 million downloads worldwide, and "Grimnotes The Animation," the second season of "Piano Forest," which aired from April to July 2018.

In ninth place is the long-awaited "Manaria Friends," a spin-off anime adaptation of the "Manaria Magic Academy Arc" event in the social game "Rage of Bahamut," developed and operated by Cygames. The main characters are Anne and Greer, two popular characters from the event, and their daily lives are depicted at the school. The animation production will be handled by CygamesPictures, a subsidiary of Cygames established in 2016. This is the first "TV anime produced by Cygames" in which the original creator, Cygames, also produces the animation, and it has attracted attention not only from fans of the original work but also from anime fans.

In tenth place was "Kotobuki Flying Squadron in the Wilderness. This is an original anime directed by Tsutomu Mizushima (director) and Michiko Yokote (series composition), the golden duo that created hits such as "Jyoshiraku," "SHIROBAKO," and "Jail Academy. The team's long absence from the scene seems to have attracted a lot of fans.
