The series' 25th anniversary project "Magician Orphen Hagure Tabi" TV anime project starts in 2019! Shotaro Morikubo continues as the main character Orphen!

The high fantasy "Magician Orphen," which has sold a total of over 12 million copies, has announced that a completely new TV anime will be produced in 2019, the 25th anniversary of the series' birth.

The "Magician Orphen" series by Teishin Akita, published by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko, has sold more than 12 million copies in total. 2011 saw the relaunch of a new series, a sequel to "Hagure Tabi," with a new publisher, TO Books, and a new series, "Hagure Tabi" ("Hagure Tabi"). At the same time, the old series ("Hagure Tabi" and "Reckless") was reprinted in a new edition, and the total number of copies of the new edition has exceeded 60, making it a popular work.
In 1994, when the first volume was released, the light novel genre had not yet taken root, and the work added sometimes comical and sometimes serious elements to the royal road and orthodox fantasy of "The Lord of the Rings" and "Dungeons & Dragons," defining the light novel genre itself as we know it today. The series has been a huge hit, with a total of more than 12 million copies sold. The series is a milestone work in the light novel genre.

It was announced that a completely new TV anime of "Magician Orphen" will be produced in 2019, the 25th anniversary of the series, and a key visual has been unveiled.
The visual shows the hero Orphen, the strongest mage in the series, with the heroine Creaou on his left, Majik, who looks up to Orphen as his teacher, on his right, and the brothers Volkan and Dotin, who accompany Orphen on his journey, on the left side. In the center is a profile of Azalee, Orphen's sister-in-law, and a back view of Childman, the strongest black magician on the continent who once trained Orphen in black magic. The key visuals are completely redesigned and show popular characters from the original story and past anime series.

In addition, it was announced that Shotaro Morikubo will continue to play the role of the main character, Orphen, in the anime adaptation, as he did in the 1998 and 1999 TV anime series.
He has also commented on his joy at playing Orphen for the first time in about 20 years, so be sure to check it out.

Inaddition, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the series, reservations for the Audible version (voice book) of "Orphen" began today, December 25 (Tuesday).
The book is read by Shotaro Morikubo, who plays the role of Orphen, so be sure to check it out before the anime airs.

Comment from Shotaro Morikubo

I met Orphen when I was in my mid-twenties.
I was in my mid-twenties when I first encountered Orphen, and it is a work that I can never forget when talking about my career as a voice actor.
I am very happy to be able to play it again after all this time.
I can meet that man again. I can travel with those friends again.
And to be able to shout again! I am filled with emotion!
I am the white blade of light!
