2018/12/29-31] The last Comic Market in Heisei Era - Comic Market 95 begins! Photo report of beautiful cosplayers seen at Comiket - Day 1

Comic Market 95 (C95), the world's largest otaku festival, opened at Tokyo Big Sight in Ariake, Tokyo, from December 29 to 31, 2018.

Comic Market, commonly known as Comiket, is the world's largest coterie magazine exhibition held twice a year in August and December. Cosplayers dressed up in costumes of various characters from anime, games, comics, and other genres are a spectacular part of Comiket. In this issue, we will introduce images of beautiful cosplayers we saw at the venue on the first day of Comiket, the 29th.

On the first day of this year's Comiket, it was quite cold from the morning. Even in the Disaster Prevention Park area, which is only a few minutes' walk from the Big Site and has a large space, many cosplayers were shivering in the cold sea wind in the afternoon. It would be better for cosplayers to take regular breaks and be prepared for the cold.

In terms of cosplay genres, there did not seem to be any particular booming works on the first day. Of course, the ship genre represented by "FGO" and "Azur Lane," "Love Live! and "THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS," there were many standard cosplayers in the idol genre, but there was none of the "look to the right, look to the left" feeling that was prevalent at one time. There was a fairly steady stream of people cosplaying their favorite works.

As for newcomers to this year's anime, cosplay of "Girls☆Geki Revue Starlight" caught the eye with its glamorous costumes and weapons, although there were not that many of them. In terms of switching genres, there were fewer Vocaloids and more Vtubers, with Kizuna Ai by far the leading Vtuber, followed by Kirayatsuki.

This was the last Comic Market in the Heisei Era and the last one before entering the Olympic mode. From what I saw on the first day, it seemed that both photographers and those being photographed would be comfortable in the Disaster Prevention Park. Note that the use of reflectors and tripods is prohibited this year at Boshi Boshi Park.
