Electric Kickboards are a hot topic of conversation in Akihabara! Electric kickboard rental service "LUUP" 2 minutes walk from Akihabara Station

Electric kickboards have been the talk of the town lately due to legal reforms and other factors. To buy and ride a kickboard yourself, you need to obtain a license plate number and liability insurance, but renting one is easy.

The Akihabara area is surprisingly large, and it takes a lot of energy and time to visit the entire area on foot. So why not take advantage of a rental electric kickboard and tour around Akihabara?

Even if you are thinking of purchasing one when the law is revised on July 1, 2023, we recommend renting one to try out the ride before you buy.

There are several places in Akihabara where you can rent an electric kickboard, but the closest spot to Akihabara Station is in front of "Komaki Shokudo Kamakura Fushokuan" in "CHABARA," a former Kanda fruit and vegetable market. From Akihabara Station, it is a two-minute walk along the JR Yamanote Line in the direction of Okachimachi.

The electric kickboard rental service "LUUP" is expanding its service in Tokyo under the slogan "rent where you want and return where you want.

Rentals can be made via a dedicated smartphone application. Fees are also set low at 50 yen (including tax) for the basic ride fee and 15 yen (including tax) per minute for usage, so a one-hour rental is surprisingly reasonable at 950 yen.

When visiting Akihabara, why not take a dashing ride through the streets of Akiba on a rental electric kickboard?

Before the revision of the law (until June 30, 2023), a driver's license and helmet are required. After the revision (after July 1, 2023), you must be at least 16 years old to ride.
