PC store with a wide selection of products

This time, we visited "PC SHOP Arc," a unique PC store in Akihabara, where the manager and staff are particularly particular about their products.

Please note that the lineups and prices in the photos in this article were taken at the time of the interview and may have been changed due to product shortages, replacements, price revisions, etc.

PC SHOP ARC is located on what is commonly known as "Parts Street," a street slightly off Chuo Street, about a 7-minute walk from the Electric Town exit of JR Akihabara Station and a 2-minute walk from Suehirocho Station, in a somewhat deep area of Akihabara, with the Surugaya purchase center and Gashapon Kaikan nearby.

Entering the store, you will find RAZER PCs, famous for their gaming products, and MSI PCs, famous for their motherboards and graphics boards.　The PC stores in Akihabara give the impression of being full of BTO PCs, meaning custom-made PCs of each store's own brand, but conversely, there are few stores where you can buy such gaming-brand PCs.

You can also buy the store's specialty BTO PCs.

Of course, the store's original BTO PCs, the "arkhive" series, are also available. While other stores sell BTO PCs with original PC cases, this store offers a choice of cases from various case manufacturers such as ASUS and Coolermaster, allowing customers to express their own individuality even though the PCs are made in a store.

The price lists for CPUs, HDDs, and other PC parts, which used to be printed out on paper and pasted up until a decade ago, are now digitalized and displayed on a monitor in the store.

The variety and prices are unmatched by any other store. If you come to Akihabara looking for memory, you may want to start by checking prices at Arc.

The assortment of gaming peripherals, which Arc Communications has been focusing on recently, also has a selection that is uniquely Arc.
Although there are not as many varieties as at other stores, the staff has carefully selected a wide assortment of items, and you can be sure that you will find what you are looking for here.

Among them, we have a full lineup of arcade controllers for PCs (arcade controllers), which are rarely seen at other PC stores.

This is a must-have item to play the recently released "Street Fighter 6" and the popular online game "Gundam Evolution" comfortably on your PC.

We also carry custom and repair parts for arcade controllers, so you can customize them as you like.　Some of the store staff are knowledgeable about them, so you may want to ask them to help you choose the right one for your skills and environment.

The store also carries limited-edition mouse pads that are large enough to cover an entire desk, helping you to create a unique PC environment.

At the time of the interview, NVIDIA's GeForce RTX4000 series, which had just been released and was in short supply, was also on sale, as well as products with special offers not found at other stores, such as a "Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse" T-shirt that was given away in collaboration with the store on a first-come, first-served basis. The "Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse" T-shirt was also available for purchase.

For the 19th installment of Shungori's Akiba Exploration, we visited PC SHOP ARC.

It is a long-established PC store that has been operating for more than 20 years in Akihabara, a district that is in a constant state of ups and downs, and I felt that it is a store that is fun not only for those who come to buy but also for those who just enjoy looking around, with a product lineup that is different from other stores and a store interior filled with the particular attention of the store staff. I think I caught a glimpse of one of the reasons why this store has survived to the present day among the PC stores in Akihabara, which are experiencing a period of rapid rise and fall.
