Following the spring season, which was packed with topical, anticipated, and sequel titles, the summer lineup is again full of strong titles.

Among them, "AI no Issei Denshi" took first place. Based on a science fiction comic serialized in "Weekly Shonen Champion" (Akita Shoten), this is a science fiction drama about AI, which has rapidly become a part of our daily lives in recent years. The original author, Yamada Huuri, who originally worked as an IT writer before becoming a manga artist, has a solid reputation for his down-to-earth science fiction thinking. It seems that the anime is drawing high expectations, as it is sure to be an anime that even adults can enjoy.

Second place went to "Spriggan," the first animated series based on the popular comic that was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday (Shogakukan) in the 1990s. Already available on Netflix, this time it will be edited to TV size and broadcast on terrestrial wave. The key point is that it is directed by Hiroshi Kobayashi, who also directed the much talked-about "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch of Mercury. The dynamic action and driving drama of "Sprigun" are also on full display. If you were hooked on "The Witch of Mercury," you should definitely check out this film as well.

Third place went to "Soukyu no Fafner THE BEYOND (TV Edition). The long-running "Fafner the Blue Sky" series will finally reach its grand finale with this film. All the episodes have already been shown in advance in theaters, and this time they will be edited to TV size for broadcast. Although we do not want to give any spoilers, the feedback from those who have seen the theatrical version of the series indicates that it received a standing ovation from all sides. Don't miss the end of the battle between humanity and Festum!

While hard, hard science fiction films dominated the list, the biographical action "Mono no Gatari (Chapter 2)" came in at No. 4.
The new key visual depicts the main character Hyoma confronting a new character, the Karagasa no Tsukemogami, as well as a number of characters who cross paths with them, and we can expect even denser human drama and action.

While the top five are heavyweight works like these, the top five and below are works in which girls play an active role in various ways.

In fifth place is "Love Live! Sunshine! school idols are active in another world in the spin-off "SUNSHINE in the MIRROR"; No. 6 is "My Favorite Girl Forgot Her Glasses," in which a very close encounter with a girl who forgot her glasses is sure to make you grin; and No. 7 is the long-awaited third season of the popular series "五等分の花嫁 ∽". In eighth place is "My Happy Marriage," a romantic love drama that has also been made into a live-action movie and has been very well received!

In ninth place is "Jujutsu Kaisen (2nd season)," and in tenth place is "Unemployed Reincarnation II: Isekai-toretto de mono-sentaku (I'll get serious when I go to another world)," the sequel to a popular series that has been eagerly awaited.

The results show a wide variety of new series and sequels, a typical feature of the 2023 summer cool season.
