Seiyu Interview] Commemorating the final episode of "Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomodachi 2"! A round-table discussion with Katumi Fukuhara, Marika Takano, Yui Fukuo, Nanami Yamashita, and Yu Serizawa!

Again, many things happen but are quickly resolved! Finally, the TV anime "Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomodachi 2", in which a very peaceful otherworldly daily life unfolds, has reached its final episode.

The number of wives keeps increasing and the main character Fuyuyoru, who is too strong, finally even has a country. We look back on such "Icesma 2!
Those who participated in this roundtable discussion were Ms. Katsumi Fukuhara as Fuyuyoru Mochizuki, Ms. Marika Takano as Yumina Ernea Belfast, Ms. Yui Fukuo as Lindsey Sileska, Ms. Nanami Yamashita as Susie Ernea Ortlinde, and Ms. Yu Serizawa as Hildegarde Minas Restia.
The following is a report of the talk that took place in a friendly atmosphere!

A non-stressful world has been created for the characters

───Please tell us frankly how you feel now that the second season is over.

Fukuhara: The recording was mostly spread out, but we tried to keep those who could communicate with each other on the same schedule. I didn't know how the whole thing was going to turn out until the very end, but when I saw the second season on TV again, I realized that this was how it was going to turn out! I thought, "Icesma" is really fun! I thought, "I knew it was going to be fun! It's nonstressful and moves along at a great pace. Incidents happen, but they are resolved quickly, and this lack of stress is what makes "Icesma" so enjoyable! I thought, "This is the essence of Icesma!

─ ─ It really is nonstressful, isn't it? The feeling of not being bothered until the next week was great.

Fukuhara: In Sushie's episode, there was a prince named Zabun, who was plainly a scum, and Sushie was also asked to marry him and enslave women.

Yamashita That was unforgivable!

Fukuhara But Fuyoyo-kun solves that problem right away, so that's a relief (laughs).

Takano In the first season, there was a power word that didn't exist in the original work, "It's just like Shogi. I thought about it. For me, the happiest thing was that the wives were all together. Yumina's words, "I hope it only takes six (weddings)," foreshadowed the fact that many cute girls came out of it as well, so I am glad (laughs).

Fukuo: After the last episode, I felt a strong sense of "I'm sad! I love "Isesma. I loved "Isesma," and from the recording of the first episode of the second season, I had the feeling that I had returned! Whenever I heard the voices of the characters, I thought, "Oh, Icesma! Aa~Icesma! Every time I heard the voices of the characters, I thought, "Oh, Icesma! After that, the show went on the air, and I was so happy to be able to see everyone from "Icesma" again every week that I wondered what would happen after the final episode.

Katsumi Fukuhara

So your loss started before the last episode.

Fukuo: That's right! That's how much I enjoyed the three months of the broadcast, and I watched every episode as it happened. In the middle of the episode, when Lucia (CV. Misuke Takagi) became a bride, the tempo was so wonderful that Fukuhara-san and I were like, "Didn't it end in a split second? I was having an "isesuma" impression meeting with Mr. Fukuhara (laughs).

Fukuhara We did this every week or so (laughs).

Fukuo That's why I miss it so much, so please make a third season! Please! (laughs).

Yamashita: The second season was really nonstressful as well, and there were many scenes where I felt that the bond between the wives was deepening as they spent more time together. The wives' meeting was one such scene, and when Sue decided to join the group as a fiancée, the wives gladly accepted her (laughs). In the first season, there were some parts where I was jealous, but in the second season, a non-stressful world was created not only for the viewers but also for the characters, which I enjoyed and thought was great.

Marika Takano.

Everyone accepts it right away (laughs).

Yamashita Yes, that's right. They have already developed a lot of nerve, so they are quick to accept the situation (laughs).

Fukuo You want to be my wife? I'm totally OK with that! Like that (laughs).

Yamashita That made me happy.

───And the one who joined you as a wife at the end was Hildegarde, played by Mr. Serizawa.

Serizawa Really! I had been invited to appear in a special program before the second season started, and I had been imposing like a main character, but I didn't appear until the 9th episode, so I didn't get a chance to appear (laughs). As Hilda, who was finally able to appear, I am more eager than anyone else for the third season because I want to spend more time with all the "isesma" wives!

─ ─ When you came out once and immediately broke up with Fuyunya, I thought, what? I thought, "What happened?

Serizawa I thought, "Will this episode be the end for me? I thought, but then I appeared with my grandfather (Galen Unas Restia), so I was glad.

Grandpa was a great character, wasn't he?

Serizawa He was the best! I enjoyed watching "Icesma" because all the supporting characters were so interesting, and I miss "Icesma," so I hope to see them all again.

─ ─ The cast is really gorgeous. The kings of the countries and so on are so gorgeous.

Fukuhara: Since the first season, the supporting actors have all been really great.

Takano In the first place, the god is Fumihiko Tachiki (laughs).

Yui Fukuo

What was the scene in which you, Serizawa-san, who plays Hildegarde, felt like you were a part of your wife?

─ ─ Now, I would like to look back on some of the memorable scenes in the second season.

Takano: I thought the date times when we all wear clothes from Fuyuyoru's world were great. (Chapter 9: Holiday Date, and Princess Knight.) We had seen clothes unique to other worlds before, so it was refreshing to go on a date wearing what is called "personal clothes," and each person's individuality shone through, so I think it was a great scene to watch.

Fukuo: Yae was wearing a pink hoodie.

Fukuhara It was casual, wasn't it?

Takano That's right. It was a very rare outfit to see, so it was a high point!

──This was a dating episode where the bride from the first season didn't get a chance to see you very often. In fact, I think it was from the point that she hasn't been bothering me lately.

Fukuo: That's right. And it was cute to see Susie standing there waiting for me after the date with the brides!

Fukuhara I thought, "This girl takes it all! I thought to myself, "She takes it all!

Yamashita Sue was not on the date. Sue wasn't there? I was reading the script thinking, "Sue's not here? I was able to spend some quality time with Fuyunya.

Fukuhara I quite liked the scene in which Fuyoya says in conversation with Sue, "At first, I thought it would be fine if we were a country in name only, with only our own people. I like that scene because not only the wives, but also the people who helped him build the country, joined the country, and he became more aware of himself as a king.

Yamashita: I remember Sue, who was standing next to me, saying, "Fuyoru is really great. Everyone in this country is living with smiles on their faces. Fuyoyo is a good king." I was recording the scene thinking that these pure words must have really touched Fuyoyo, who was making up his mind to be a king. This is a great scene! Sue had many innocent scenes, so this kind of calmness was a new attraction for her.

Nanami Yamashita

Sue has been in the story from the beginning, but now she finally became a bride.

Yamashita: That's right! I pushed Fuyuyoru down twice this time (laughs).

Fukuhara Boom! Fuyoyo! Make me your wife too. Let's get married!" (laughs). (Chapter 7, "The Hangar," and Frame Gear.)

─ ─ But that was the only heavy story in the second season, wasn't it?

Yamashita That's right. For me, all the episodes related to Sue's engagement issues left a strong impression: the scene where I pushed her down for the second time (Chapter 8, "Two Princes, and a Little Fiancée."), and the scene when Sue's engagement was finalized (Chapter 9, "The Hanger" and "Frame Gear.") And Sue's happiness when the engagement was finalized was precious.

Fukuo: I'm so precious to remember: .......

Yamashita You cried deeply, didn't you?

Fukuo There were a lot of tense expressions on her face, so it was nice to see her smile again.

Fukuhara I think I tweeted something (laughs). I was watching all the episodes in real time, and the first thing I tweeted was "Who‼︎ made the lovely Sue cry‼︎ I'll never forgive them‼︎" and then "Sue has her smile back‼︎".

─ ─ You are putting your guess all over the place (laugh).

Serizawa Also, I was a little happy to see that the idiot prince here is a guy with a proper bad character. He's really a lousy guy! (laughs). (Laughs.) But here, everyone wished for Sue's happiness.

Fukuo: Everyone loves Sue.

Yamashita That makes me happy!

─ ─ Yumina is also my cousin. It's like she's finally joining her wife, isn't it?

Takano That's right! But I'm sure she already knew that with her magic eye.

Yu Serizawa

───What is your favorite scene, Ms. Serizawa?

Serizawa: I like the part where they talk about love at the bride meeting (Chapter 11: A sister from another world, and first love sparkles.) Where did you fall in love with Fuyuyoru? Where did you fall in love with Fuyuyoru? At first he is very formal about it, but in the end he says shyly, "I thought it was cool," and Yui Horie tells him, "That's what I wanted to hear. I felt like I became a part of everyone there. During the voice drama, there were many scenes where I didn't feel like a wife, so I felt like I had become Fuyuyoru's wife, too (laughs). In the second season, I think there were many scenes where everyone talked about when they fell in love with each other, so Hilda was shy in front of everyone and talked about Fuyoyo's crush points.

Fukuhara It was kind of embarrassing to listen to (laughs).

───But if she helped you like that, you would like her, wouldn't you?

Serizawa That's right! Fuyuyoru is so strong.

─ ─ What are some other good scenes?

Fukuo: I think episode 7 (Chapter 7 "Hangar" and "Frame Gear"). I guess. In the second season, there were a lot of dates for defeating enemies, and the group that had already become wives went to defeat them together. Here, there was Paula, who was very excited, and it was cute to see her cutting ahead of the others and shadow boxing as she walked along! Icesma loves Mascot Characters, so I think it's great that the animation is so cute because it's moving! I like it because it's cute because it's moving! I like it!

─ ─ It was cute, wasn't it? Personally, I felt a little sorry for the monsters that were beheaded and mercilessly defeated, but it was also interesting.

Fukuo: The wives have become so strong that Fuyunya-kun's strength is no longer necessary.

Serizawa They are getting stronger and stronger.

Serizawa: Because they are getting stronger and stronger, it's like the wives are protecting Fuyuyoru rather than being protected by him.

Fukuo: That balance of power is interesting and good!

Fukuhara As for the mascot, Kohaku was as cute as ever, and Yuki Kaita's ad-libs were a blast.

Takano I have the image that she ad-libbed every time.

Fukuhara She would say, "No good? No?" (laughs). (laughs). The part where Amber says "Shut up, you instant boiling pot" in her big voice was aggravating. (Chapter 6, "The Alchemy Building," and an Unexpected Reunion)

─ ─ Are there any characters other than the main characters that you like and are interested in?

Fukuhara There are so many.

Fukuo: In Babylon Sisters, I like High Rosetta. I wondered who would play her. I was wondering who would play her, but it turns out to be Maruka Asahina! I was so happy because we are good friends in our private life.

I didn't expect to see a robot with a new frame gear.

Takano: In the end, I thought, "Aren't you going to fight? I thought (laughs).

Fukuhara That's true! We just moved it around on a trial basis, riding something like "Mobile Suit Gundam: Senjo no Kizuna" (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Bonds of Battlefield), and then we did a simulation.

Fukuo But the fact that you created the frame gear settings for the anime means that if there is a third season of ...... I am sure it will work (laughs).

Fukuhara Also, working with Galen-san was a big part of the project. Kenichi Ogata's acting was great, but I was also happy to learn how to act from someone who has been at the forefront of the industry for so long. He would make the decisions in the play, and would improvise where he could.

Serizawa: Ogata-san played the role of Grandpa, and he really fit the character. He was really great when he acted, but during the postrecording he said, "It's too dark to see well," and from the second week he brought a light (laughs).

Fukuhara He did bring a light. He was saying, "It's so easy to see," and hooking the light on his finger.

Serizawa It was cute that he brought his own light like that.

Hilda : ─ But the scene where Hilda and Galen fight, it was funny to see the girls in their swimsuits and how Hilda would lose to them if she saw them in their swimsuits.

Fukuhara I wondered if that was okay? I wondered if that was okay. I heard that Fuyunya also joins in that way (laughs).

Serizawa It's okay to be dishonest! (laughs). (Laughs.) The wives who are willing to cheat from the beginning are also wives, which is interesting.

─ ─ Do you have any memories from the recording sessions?

Takano: There was a problem about whether the first person was "I" or "I", and it turned out that Yumina used "I" in the second half, so we had to re-record the whole scene. We had to re-record the whole thing in the middle. When Lucia-chan appeared on the stage, there was a ruby, which reminded me of the concept that "watashi" reading existed. So I went back and looked at the first season and found that she said "watashi".

Fukuo: I think we had that exchange during the recording of the first season.

Takano: So, if we are going to do a third season, it would be better if the next one comes in one or two years, so that I can say "I" in one shot (laughs).

(Laughs) ─ ─ I have no doubt about that. Lastly, on behalf of the cast, please give a message to Mr. Fukuhara and Ms. Takano.

Takano: Mr. Patra Fuyuhara has written many novels, so we have enough original works.

Fukuhara There is a huge amount of original work, but I am still sad that it will end with the second season. There are even robots in the story.

Takano It would be sad to end with just a ride!

Fukuhara So now that we have our wives, we are eagerly awaiting the third season!

Takano I am sure that the viewers are hoping that this kind of non-stressful anime will continue for a long time, and I think that everyone would be happy to see a continuation soon, not to say 5 years, so I would like to ask on behalf of the viewers and ask for your support as well.
