The second episode of the summer anime "Rurouni Kenshin - Meiji Swordsman Romantic Tan" has been released with a synopsis and advance scene cuts.

Rurouni Kenshin" was serialized by Nobuhiro Watsuki in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1994, and became a TV anime in 1996. The live-action movie became a blockbuster hit, grossing over 19.3 billion yen, and a sequel, "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Tan - Hokkaido Arc," is currently serialized in "JUMP SQ.
In July 2023, such a milestone in action period drama will be revived as a new TV animation "Rurouni Kenshin - Meiji Kenshaku Roman Tan," using the latest animation technology to reconstruct the original story.

The production team includes director Hideyo Yamamoto ("Strike the Blood"), series composition by Hideyuki Kurata ("Made in Abyss"), and other talented staff members. The cast, including Souma Saito as Kenshin Himura, has been completely renewed, and the original author Nobuhiro Watsuki himself completely supervised all aspects of the film, including character design and scenario.

It's been a week since the resolution of the Tsujigiri riot, in which the name of Kamiya Kasshinryu was deceived. Although the name of Kamiya Dojo has been cleared, there is no sign of an increase in the number of students under Kaoru's tutelage. Then, a passing boy, Yahiko Myojin, steals Kenshin's wallet. Kenshin gives the wallet to him, saying that it is his fault that it was stolen. Yahiko is repulsed by the charity he receives for treating him like a child, but he has a reason for collecting the money.

The original story by Nobuhiro Watsuki was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1994, and was adapted into the first TV anime in 1996. After numerous other developments including OVAs and theater movies, "Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story - Hokkaido Arc" is currently being serialized in "JUMP SQ.

This latest work is a reconstruction of the original story from the first episode using the latest animation technology, aiming to create an anime "Rurouni Kenshin" that will appeal to current anime fans as well.
