Hayao Miyazaki's latest film "How Do You Live? The box-office revenue exceeded 150% of that of the previous film, "The Wind Rises.

It was announced that "How Do You Live," a film directed by Hayao Miyazaki, which is currently in theaters, drew an audience of 1.35 million and grossed over 2.14 billion yen during its four-day run (July 14-17, 2023).

While expectations were high for Miyazaki's first feature film in 10 years since "The Wind Rises," information on the content, cast, and staff was kept under wraps until the film's release as a non-promotional publicity stunt.

The box-office results for the first four days of its release were announced.

The film was released in theaters on July 14, 2023 (Friday), and during its four-day run through July 17 (Monday, national holiday), it drew 1.35 million viewers and earned over 2.14 billion yen at the box office.
It has surpassed the four-day box-office revenue of "Spirited Away," a film by the same director released in 2001, and is now 150% ahead of the previous film "The Wind Rises," released on Saturday, July 20, 2013.
