How about rich yet sharp ramen? Akihabara Ramen Waiizu" Tsukemen 1,000 yen!
When you come to Akihabara, you may have a hard time deciding where to have lunch.
To help you decide, here are some Akiba eats that I, Shun Gori, who is a frequent visitor to Akihabara even when I have nothing else to do, recommend. As an Akibaite who likes to spend money on his hobbies, I will mainly introduce dishes that can be eaten for less than 1,000 yen, assuming that the amount of money you can spend for lunch is within 1,000 yen.
- Akihabara 1,000 yen Gourmet
- ⇒ "Thick Chicken Soba Menya Buichi" Thick Chicken Tsukemen (noodle) 950 yen
- ⇒Old-established "Curry specialty restaurant Bengal" chicken curry 990 yen!
- ⇒"Tokyo Tonkotsu Ramen Bankara Akihabara" Ramen for 850 yen!
Many people may say, "Speaking of Akiba, Ramen is the place to be! Many people may say, "Akiba is all about Ramen! However, Akiba is one of the most fierce battlegrounds for ramen in Japan, so it can be a bit of a challenge just to figure out where to eat.
While the rich tonkotsu (pork bone) type is good, the light soy sauce type is hard to ignore, there is also the thick Iekei (family-style) ramen, and there is even a gutsy Jiro-style ramen.
Conversely, it is a luxury to be able to eat the ramen of one's choice according to one's mood of the day.
After much deliberation, we decided to visit "Akihabara Ramen Waiizu," which has been the talk of the town for its rich yet sharp ramen.
Akihabara Ramen Waiizu is located along Kuramae-bashi-dori, about an 8-minute walk from the Electric Town exit of JR Akihabara Station or a 1-minute walk from Suehirocho Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.
The restaurant has only nine seats at the counter, so when it is crowded, there is a line outside the restaurant. The aisles are narrow, so if you have big shopping plans, it would be better to come eat first.
There is no specific lunch menu, so you will have to order from the regular menu.
The noodles can be changed in terms of consistency and seasoning, so it is a good idea to let the waiter know your preference when you hand over your meal ticket.
This time, I wanted to order the most popular "Noritama Ramen" (1,100 yen), but it would have exceeded my budget of 1,000 yen, so I held out and ordered the "Tsukemen" (1,000 yen).
The tsukemen is free with a large portion, so it is a good value for money.
The tsukemen soup is made with a large amount of bonito and mackerel karebushi (dried bonito and mackerel), and is extremely thick. The addition of a large portion of noodles makes it a very satisfying dish.
The noodles are special noodles developed jointly with Mikawa-ya Seimen, and they are well mixed with the thick broth. Toppings include pickled bamboo shoots and three large pieces of chashu pork. The toppings alone are quite satisfying, as there are many cubes of meat in the dipping sauce.
The thick, thick dipping sauce is difficult to adjust when the noodles are added, but it is best to just pour it on and slurp it down without thinking too much about it.
Tsukemen" and "Toku Tsukemen" are limited items on the Akihabara branch's menu, so be sure to try them when you come to Akihabara.
Inside the restaurant, there is a sign that reads "Tsukemen Style.
It says to sprinkle black shichimi (seven spices) on the noodles after eating about half of them.
If there is a recommendation on how to eat it, then it is the way of the world to try it! So, when I had finished eating half of the noodle, I sprinkled some black shichimi on it. The aroma of the black shichimi and the spiciness of the chili pepper were very tasty!
This is definitely something you should try when you order tsukemen!
This time, I visited "Akihabara Ramen Waiizu" in Akihabara to try their rich tsukemen. The tsukemen I ordered was very rich and filling, and at 1,000 yen, it was a bowl of noodles that satisfied both my stomach and my heart.
Next time, I definitely want to try the most popular "Noritama Ramen," but I also want to try the "Special Marudori Chicken Shoyu Ramen" (1,350 yen), which is only available on Mondays. I will probably be coming here on my own for a while.
