This year's "Anisong Award" was held in a slightly anomalous way, determining the best OP & ED from anime that aired during the 1 year and 3 month period from the 2017 fall cool to the 2018 fall cool, from the 2017 fall, 2018 winter, 2018 spring, 2018 summer, and 2018 fall seasons, A total of 50 songs nominated for the top 5 of the "OP & ED Theme Popularity Poll" previously conducted by Akiba Research Institute were eligible for this year's voting. The winner was "Ano Musume ni Drop Kick" (Jyakami-chan Drop Kick OP)! This song, which recreates the slapstick of the main story of the anime with a high-tension soundtrack, was voted the top by the fans. We hope that this momentum will continue into the second season!
