8/16 APPENDIX! Carve an "imprint" on your enemies with your flash spear! Blue Protocoll" New Class "Blitz Lancer" Preliminary Media Trial Report
NAMCO BANDAI Online and NAMCO BANDAI Studios held a media preview of the online action RPG "BLUE PROTOCOL," offering an early taste of the new BlitzLancer class, which will be implemented in an update on August 16, 2023.
Keisuke Fukuzaki, director of the game, Sho Saito, battle director, and Teppei Fujikawa, sub-battle director, were also present at the test event and demonstrated the appeal of the "Blitzlancer.
BLUE PROTOCOL" is an online action RPG whose official service just started in June 2023, in which the player-controlled protagonist travels around "Planet Regnus" in search of his lost memories.
The highlight of "BLUE PROTOCOL" is its beautiful, cartoon-like graphics and the intense battle action of its unique classes. The ability to freely customize the appearance of the main character and adventure with your own unique character is another key point, attracting attention from anime and game fans alike.
There have been several classes (occupations) in the past, such as the "Aegis Fighter," which plays a key role in defense, the "Twin Striker," which attacks violently with a two-handed axe, the "Blast Archer," which excels in support, the "Spellcaster," which specializes in attribute attacks, and the "Heavy Smasher," which fights with a hammer that can be ejected. However, a new class, the "Blitz Lancer," will be introduced with the August 16, 2023 update.
The "Blitz Lancer" is a class that specializes in group combat, wielding a slender spear. Unlike other classes, the Blitz Lancer can move freely in any direction without consuming stamina. However, their defense is low, so it is important to compensate for this by using skills that allow them to move. By making full use of the unique "imprinting" system (described below), it is possible to fight while engaging a large number of enemies.
The role of the "Blitz Lancer" is to deal damage in melee combat, but it is also clearly differentiated from conventional DPS (offensive) classes such as the "Twin Striker" and "Spellcaster" classes.
According to Mr. Fukuzaki and Mr. Saito, the "Twin Striker" can deliver the most firepower when it is one-on-one, while the "Blitz Lancer," like the "Spellcaster," excels in one-on-many battles. And in a one-on-many situation, "Blitz Lancer" can continue to produce damage on average, although it loses to "Spellcaster" in terms of instantaneous firepower when various conditions such as "Concentrate" are met. Currently, the mainstream is to gather all the energies in one place and then attack them, and "Blitz Lancer" is said to be compatible with this environment.
The "Blitz Lancer" is also symbolized by its unique "engraving" system. The "imprint" is a special marker that is given to an enemy by hitting it with a specific attack. After the marker has been placed on the enemy, tactical skills with the "activation" ability can be used to debuff the enemy. The process is a single set: hit with a technique that grants the "marker," hit with a technique that has the "activation" ability, the "marker" disappears, and the debuff is activated. ......

There are three different types of "imprints," each of which has a different effect when activated. The "burst" effect increases the damage of attacks that hit the target when activated. In other words, in addition to avoiding the enemy's attacks and hitting your own, you can fight a battle that is more like a "Blitz Lancer" if you give it the "Mark" it currently lacks, and if you look at the surrounding situation and the cooldown of the Tactical Skill and decide whether or not to "activate" all three types of skills. Earlier, Mr. Fukuzaki and Mr. Saito wrote about the "Blitz Lancer" as being able to keep producing an average amount of damage, but if you understand the nature of the skills and play around with them technically, you can achieve a high average score.
If you "activate" it when all three of the following skills are present, a high-damage ranged attack called "Jyukkoku Sangae" will appear.
In most RPGs, debuffing an enemy is often handled by a specialized profession, or the act of debuffing itself does no or low damage. However, the "Blitz Lancer" can give debuffs while attacking, allowing for speedier battles to unfold. This is a class that is typical of the high action nature of BLUE PROTOCOL.
The duration of the "Mark" is 20 seconds, and the duration is extended if the same Mark is given during the effect (the same Mark is never given more than once).
The status of the "imprint" is shared with other Blitz Lancers around you. This means that the same imprint that is applied by one player may be activated by another player, and vice versa.
Imprint" and "Activation
Imprint Burst
This effect is given by pressing and holding the "Tempest Rush" (normal attack), following up the "Stab Impact" and "Cruel Thrust" tactical skills, or by attacking from a certain height. The "activation" effect increases the damage dealt by an attack that hits when "activated." Icon color is red.
Mark of Emptiness
Can be given by deriving from the third level of Tempest Rush (normal attack) or by kicking up with the "Hunting Zone" Tactical Skill. The effect is to reduce the attack power of the enemy. The icon is blue. Derivation of "Tempest Rush" is a little difficult.
Mark of Entanglement
This is given by deriving it after the second stage of Tempest Rush (normal attack). The effect is to slow down the enemy's movement speed. The icon is green. It can be derived at an early stage of "Tempest Rush," making it easy to use during battle.
Launching
When a "Launch" technique is used, it will debuff and damage the attacker in exchange for removing the "Mark". When "Activate" is performed with the "Mark/Burst," "Mark/False," and "Mark/Kaku" skills aligned, "Heavy Scattering" is performed, which, in addition to the debuffing effect, causes a high-damage + ranged attack. Sometimes described as "digestion" in the skill description.
There are many means of "activating" such as the class action "Leap Shot," the tactical skills "Rapid Spear," "Upper Dance," "Grand Pile," "Cruel Thrust" (1st level), "Grand Spark" and "Tornado Spin" (Nagging attack).
However, it may happen that all of the "activation" skills are on cooldown and cannot be used even though they have been given the "imprint". This is a symbolic element of "Blitz Lancer" that requires tactical skill organization and cooldown management.
The "Jyukoku Sanka" (heavy engraving), which is triggered by aligning three "engravings," is a ranged attack. The damage extends to the surrounding scarecrows.
Blitz Lancer's main techniques
Tempest Rush" (normal attack)
A spear attack; G1: press and hold for a long press to activate the "Imprint Burst," the fourth stage of which extends the duration of the debuff; G2: up-derived to activate the "Imprint False," G3: down-derived to activate the "Imprint Entangled," and G4: up-derived to activate the "Imprint Lost," G5: up-derived to activate the "Imprint Lost.
Escape Leap" (class action)
Jumps with a spear. A follow-up "leap shot" is possible from here. The class ability "Forward Away" adds the ability to jump forward, and "Physical Jump" gives super armor at the moment of kicking the ground.
Rapid Spear" (Tactical Skill)
A high-speed thrust with a spear. Activation. In Beta, the first level has the Mark of Emptiness, and the fifth level has the Mark of Entanglement.
Upper Dance (Tactical Skill)
The attacker moves forward and attacks three times with an uppercut. The last uppercut is "activated". In Beta, the attacker jumps after the last uppercut.
Grand Pile" (Tactical Skill)
After jumping straight up, the fighter will plummet down and thrust a spear. Activation. Beta" gives the ability to "Mark Emptiness" instead of "Trigger".
"Cruel Thrust" (Tactical Skill).
After a blow with the spear, a follow-up blow is made with the hilt. The spear can be "activated" and the follow-up strike is "engraved/burst". Alpha" grants 3 imprints.
Stab Impact" (Tactical Skill)
A shockwave is released that penetrates the enemy. Grants "刻印・炸". [ Kemi MK1] "Beta" grants "Imprint: Burst" and "Imprint: False".
Tornado Spin" (Tactical Skill)
Spins the spear to create a tornado around it. While in the tornado, the user is in super armor. Pressing and holding the skill button will cause the spear to lash out in a "triggered" manner.
Mark Trigger" (Tactical Skill)
The "Mark Trigger" buff is exclusive to the Blitz Lancer. During the duration of the effect, the effectiveness of various mark triggers will be increased.
Prepare Mode" (Tactical Skill)
Grants "Prepare Mode", a buff exclusive to BlitzLancer, which increases the damage dealt by each attack tactical skill once 15 seconds have elapsed or a certain number of Marks have been triggered. If three [Kemi MK2] Attack Tactical Skills are set, the damage dealt by each skill is increased. The power of Tactical Skills increases in proportion to the number of times the [Imprint] is activated during [Prepare Mode].
Hunting Zone (Tactical Skill)
The "Hunting Zone" buff is exclusive to the Blitz Lancer. Leap Shot" now has the effect of attracting enemies, and the "Escape Leap" interval is eliminated.
Adrenaline" (class shared ability)
When targeted by an enemy, damage is reduced.
Rise and Speed (class shared ability)
When a player successfully rescues another player, the target's speed is increased and they are resurrected.
Burst Emblem (Class Ability)
Enhances the flinch effect and damage of the "Heavy Scattering.
Elektric Transformer" (Class Ability)
Adds a lightning attribute accumulation value when activating "Mark of Emptiness" or "Mark of Entanglement".
End of Javelin (ULT)
The user can hurl a javelin at a target, knocking it away from its surroundings. It has the effect of imprinting and activating the "imprint burst," "imprint void," and "imprint tangle" effects.
The player will engage in fierce battles while thinking about the "imprint" and "activation" effects.
During the trial, we were able to experience both solo and party play using "Blitz Lancer.
The most memorable part was the party battle involving multiple "Blitz Lancer" players. As mentioned earlier, "Blitz Lancer" has a low defense, so it is important to avoid the attacks of the enemy. However, since the Aegis Fighter drew the hate of the party, Blitz Lancer itself was able to concentrate on giving and activating the Engrave. This is the true joy of party play, and after the implementation of the system, it would be a good idea to share roles with friends.
It is also interesting to note that the "imprint" is shared by all Blitz Lancers present. It is a fun way to increase efficiency by carefully assessing your surroundings, even though you are a DPS player, I got the impression that people who like to support others would also enjoy it.
It is a common sight in online games that everyone uses a new class immediately after an update, but thanks to the "imprint" being shared, there can be more than one BlitzLancer in a party, so it seems safe to use.
Even in solo battles, the management of the cool time becomes a bit puzzle-like in terms of imparting and activating the "imprint," which is a unique aspect of the game. Tactical skills may also have different imprints and activation abilities when they reach "α" and "β" levels, so building a build can be a lot of fun.
While moving swiftly and moving quickly, the class is also technical in many ways, as it requires a great deal of thought.
