Plastic Model Reviews] Chinese-made plastic models have come this far! Doyusha's "THE ENTROPY OF TITANS Raijin" is the strongest kit in terms of mobility, proportions, and gimmicks!
When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!
The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.
So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Let's get started with the 81st issue!
Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Model Show No. 81 1:100 NONZERO SERIES - THE ENTROPY OF TITANS Raijin NZS-05-3
Recently, various domestic and foreign model makers have been releasing many original character kits that are not based on original works. They can be bishojo, real mecha, super robots, and so on, but this time we would like to introduce "1:100 NONZERO SERIES - THE ENTROPY OF TITANS Raijin NZS-05-3" (hereafter, "Raijin") imported and sold by Chinese manufacturer HEMOXIAN.
Doyusha has been actively importing and selling plastic models from overseas manufacturers such as "Optimus Prime" (reviewed the other day), "New God Phoenix (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman II)," "ATK Girl" and "Fantasygirls" (a kit series for beautiful girls), and this "Raijin" is one of them. The "Raijin" is one of them.
Although it is an original robot, the "Raijin" has a solid world view and machine settings, and it is likely to be made into a series. Let's take a look at it now.
First of all, the box is impressive! As you can see in the upper left corner, the first edition comes with a special bonus.
Inside the box, besides the plastic kit runner, there were a few other items of interest.
Button batteries and a small circuit board. By simply incorporating this, it is possible to build a light-emitting gimmick into the Raijin's head! It is amazing that it is provided from the start.
Water transfer decals are also included. Since there are quite a few of them, I was not able to paste them on for this review, but I will prepare some that I have pasted on later when I personally display it at an exhibition.
There are some surplus parts that remain after the main body is completed. One clear part comes with this colorless one and one clear orange one. The parts configuration is the same, and the clear orange one was used in the normal assembly. If you paint the colorless clear parts with your favorite clear color, you can create a finished product with a different atmosphere, so it is possible to enjoy different colors.
The round parts on the left end are used for the chest of the main body. You may also choose this one if you like.
In addition, the initial bonus parts are sandwiched between these pieces of cardboard. Its contents are...
Cloak made of cloth! A metal wire like lead wire runs through the top of the cape, so you can control the facial expression to some extent.
A cape on a robot. Duh~! I know what I'm talking about!
Check out the main body!
Let's take a look at the completed body before attaching the armament.
This robot has both realistic robot-like design lines and super robot-like body shape, giving it a mysterious charm.
While the armor and joints are very realistic, there are panels on the chest that remind one of "lightning" and the body looks very muscular, giving it a presence that cannot be described in one word.
In addition to the armament, the figure also comes with a flat hand, a weapon handle, and attachment parts for displaying the figure using a commercially available stand.
As shown in the box art, the figure handles a huge hammer, so it is nice to have replacement parts, as the movable fingers are not strong enough to hold the hammer by far.
Next, let's take a look at the range of motion.
The neck is connected with a ball joint, so it can basically move freely, but the base of the neck can also be tilted back and forth, so the face can be turned almost directly up or down.
The hips are also very movable, especially when bent forward. Even when the back is bent forward as far as it will go, there is no large gap on the back side.
The two arrows on the right side of the image allow for rotation. The lower arrow is the connection to the lumbar region and can be rotated on its axis. The upper arrow can also be twisted to the left or right, and the abdominal armor is also linked to it. The movement is very biological, even though it is mechanical.
The front armor can be folded forward as you can see, and it moves so well that it is almost too much.
Lateral flexion is also possible with the abdomen.
The shoulder swing movement allows the body side to swing partially, and by pulling out the shoulder joints, the shoulders can be turned forward in such a large angle.
In addition, the shoulder can be rotated on the connecting axis and the arm can be lifted horizontally without difficulty. We have omitted photos of the arms, as this is a standard feature for this class of kits.
The armor on the waist can be moved so much that you may wonder, "How much can I move that much? The front armor can be moved freely as mentioned above.
The front armor is freely movable as mentioned above, and can also be swiveled left and right around the axis connecting it to the waist.
The side armor is connected to the rear armor with ball joints. The number of parts is kept to a minimum to ensure excellent mobility.
The rear skirt slides up and down at the base of the connection with the side armor. The rear armor itself is also connected with ball joints and boasts unparalleled mobility.
The upper unit of the shoulder armor has a built-in thruster deployment gimmick.
The thrusters are ball-jointed to the shoulder armor and can be rotated back and forth.
In addition, the white armored portion of the shoulder armor has a two-layer structure, with the front shoulder panels and the upper portion rotating independently of each other using the shoulder connection shafts.
It is no longer a surprise that the side armor can be flipped up.
An interlocking gimmick is also built into the elbow joint. Naturally, roll rotation at the upper arm and shoulder joints is also possible.
The wrist area is also interesting, and not only can it be snapped back and forth, but it can also be snapped sideways. The base of the wrist itself can also be rotated, allowing for a great deal of freedom in posing.
The hand parts can not only be replaced with fingers, but the thumb can be raised from the root, and the thumb and index finger can be rotated in a roll at the detachable part.
Multiple parts of the knee joints, including the shin, thigh, and calf, are movable in tandem. In addition, the knees can be bent this deeply.
The large left and right armoring around the ankles move up and down in tandem when the ankles are tilted, preventing the ankle joints from being exposed.
The ankle and toe parts are also independently movable. This is useful for expressing ground contact.
This kind of fighting pose is a piece of cake.
The panel on the chest is a "God's Sanction", a special weapon to deliver a killing blow.
I see!
The "Strike Gun Nail" pile bunker is built into the back of her knees as a hidden weapon. It can be pulled out for use.
And the hip joints have an amazing range of motion! The ingenuity of the armor's mobility comes into play here.
Standing on one knee is possible, although it takes some skill because the knee area is a bit stiff.
The ankles are movable to allow the figure to stand even in such a delicately balanced pose at the start of running.
Both hands have been replaced with flat hands. As you can see, a bold pose is also possible.
The hip joints can be opened to allow for high kicks when balanced.
The head incorporates the circuit board shown at the beginning. The switches are also incorporated into the design, so they do not detract from the appearance.
By turning on the switch, the clear parts of the forehead and eyes light up. This can be enjoyed without any modification, which is very gratifying! Batteries were included, so you can try it out as soon as it is completed.
Various gimmick-packed equipment!
Next, let's equip it with various weapons.
Both arms are equipped with "ZDF-type double-barreled machine gun Flashbreaker".
This will probably be the main armament. It seems to be able to store energy and release it all at once.
Next is the backpack. It looks like a support machine by itself.
Open the hatch on the back of the Raijin's main body, and a square joint hole appears inside.
Connect the backpack to the hole. The parts of the lid are not too much of a bother and fit into the backpack.
Here is the figure of Raijin equipped with the backpack.
Even though he is carrying a rather large backpack, it seems to fit in naturally thanks to the volume of the body.
From the back, you can see how huge the backpack is. Still, of course, it can stand on its own.
The back of the figure is curved, but when equipped with the backpack, the figure suddenly looks angular and mechanical.
The units on both sides of the backpack are "prototype plasma cannons.
It may also serve as a propulsion system, but it looks like an armament. Both sides are deployed. It can also be extended and retracted.
The backpack also moves well.
It can also be folded back. ......
It can also be deployed so that the cannon's muzzle points backward, like a propulsion system.
The two cannon guns on the back, "Prototype Type High Convergence Electromagnetic Railgun Umeginkichi Okude (unreadable!) can also be tilted backward.
In addition, the gun barrels can be extended and retracted. The connection with the backpack is a ball joint connection, so it can also be angled freely to some extent.
The machine guns on both arms, the plasma cannon and electromagnetic railgun on the backpack, and all of the armaments can be pointed forward for a powerful firing pose.
The plasma cannon can be removed from the backpack and attached to the machine gun position on the arms by incorporating attachment parts in between.
It's huge! It looks strong! Charging hammer Mjolnir!
And finally, the gimmick of the huge hammer "Charging Hammer Mjolnir," which was also depicted on the packaging.
By turning the dial between the hammers,
The hammer and its tip can be extended and retracted by rotating the dial between the hammers!
Although there is no interlocking gimmick for the grip portion, it can be deployed to make it easier to hold.
When attaching to the weapon handle, the connecting pin on the wrist side is inserted into a groove on the handle of the hammer, and then held in place with a dedicated finger, so the holding power is quite high.
However, it is large and heavy, so posing it was a bit of a challenge.
The length of Mjolnir lightly exceeds the height of the main body. However, I can imagine that even such a weapon would be handled with great strength by the god of thunder. A triumph of design!
As mentioned in the description of the wrist, the wrist can be snapped laterally, so the angle of the wrist can be used to express the weight of the hammer.
The plane looks like it could be handled with one hand, but it is also cool when held with both hands.
The "Dooryaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!" The Raijin swings its hammer with such force that you can almost hear its voice saying, "Oh, no, no, no!
If it were a mecha, it would be flattened to a pulp!
First bonus cloak
Finally, the "initial bonus" equipment, a cape, was shown on the figure!
Shoulder armor, set between the backpack and the main body, at the base of the shoulders, is attached. So some parts need to be disassembled once.
The torn feeling of the 10,000 pieces and other parts are really well expressed. This tattered feeling reminds us of the success of Raijin who has fought alone.
Back view.
The presence of the cloth.
Pose with folded arms. It would be perfect if he appeared from a high place.
The package includes an inner lid, which when turned inside out, shows a rocky background. It can be used for both photography and display, so why not use it more and more, take more and more pictures, and post the cool appearance on social networking sites?
Also, the top edge of the cape has a built-in lead wire, so it is possible to add a certain degree of expression, as shown here.
Add a touch of stain painting!
Lastly, as is customary, I dry-brushed the figure using gilding wax (silver) to express the heroic robot's exhaustion, since the armor must have suffered severe wear and tear after fighting a tough battle alone.
This time, too, I dry brushed the armor quite heavily. I drybrushed with the intention of expressing armor that has had its paint layer scraped off due to a collision or something like that.
It is easy to see with the dark colored parts.
Drybrushing with silver color" can easily express the metallic feeling of the plastic-like appearance of the previous model. Please give it a try.
If you look closely, you can clearly see how intensely the drybrushing was done. The shoulder armor is double-layered, so I imagined that the lower armor would be especially rubbed.
In drybrushing, it is important to know the technique, but it is even more important to think about what areas are appropriate to stain with imagination and creativity. Try it out with your imagination.
That's all for the introduction of the god of thunder, but speaking of the god of thunder, isn't he also the god of wind? I am not even sure if he exists in terms of the setting, but I would really like to see the series lineup enhanced. I look forward to seeing more developments in the future!
I am sure that Doyusha will continue to develop and import interesting kits in the future, and I hope to reach out to them again in the future.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this article to the end.
