New Gundam Model Kits Review] "HG 1/144 Gundam Caliburn" painted with "Ultimate Rainbow" hologram! I tried to reproduce the image of the last stage of the anime.

The 8th edition of "YU-GO's Character Modeling LABO" is Bandai Spirits "HG 1/144 Gundam Caliburn"! This is "that" kit that was included in the release schedule under the product name "Product B" until after the last episode was broadcast.

Let's build the HG 1/144 Gundam Caliburn!

The other day, "Mobile Suit Gundam: Witch of Mercury" reached its grand finale.

Everyone has been waiting for the kit of the "monster" Gundam that played a major role in the series' biggest climax since its first appearance, and the release of this kit at the best timing must have been the best surprise for the "Witch of Mercury" fans right after the end of the last episode.

Let's start with the box art.

The box art is a great recreation of the Caliburn battle scene.

Now, let's open the box!

There are some sharp parts.

The chest shell unit and antenna are reproduced in the rainbow colors of in-mold molding, and the parts are just as they were in the play image.

I am quite excited at this point!

Anyway, I wanted to put it into shape as soon as possible, so I assembled it quickly!

The kit is a wonderful kit that captures the images from the movie and the characteristics of the setting drawing very well. The assembly is so smooth that I can remember the dialogue and BGM from the play while assembling.

The main weapon "Variable Rod Rifle," reminiscent of a witch's broomstick, is of course also provided. Let's check out the gimmick!

This part can be extended and retracted just like in the movie.

The grip is also movable, allowing for stable posing.

Here is a shot of the Gundam Caliburn with the Variable Rod Rifle attached.

Gundam Caliburn's ankles can be transformed into high maneuver mode.

The four propulsion units "Quadra Thrusters" can also be deployed.

Please let me through!"

You can also enjoy this kind of fun with the TV screen in the background.

Further improve the quality with easy processing and painting!

Now, let's add a few modifications as usual!

For the parts, we will use various files such as WAVE's "Yasuri-Stick" and God Hand's "Kami Yasu" to carefully process the gate marks and surface the parts.

Parts with noticeable mismatch can be glued together to eliminate the mismatch for a better appearance.

I felt the red part on the chin was too short, so I extended it using a runner tag.

The thickness of the runner tag is just the right length, so it is glued and shaped as it is.

In the last episode, the overall image of Caliburn and the main video (even the color of the staff credits in the end roll) was the "rainbow" color of Parmet, so I painted the white parts with SHOW UP's "Ultimate Rainbow" this time.

It is extremely luminous and uses fine-grained holographic pigments, so just spraying it on gives it a magical rainbow texture. I recommend this!

I used aurochs' rechargeable airbrush "Handy Compressor & Airbrush Set ver.2.5" for spraying.

This is a great product that enables stable air supply and delicate painting just by recharging the battery, so beginners can try airbrush painting with no worries.

We also made the antenna sharp.

First, cut the safety standard flag with a sharp nipper. (This time we used God Hand's "Ultimate Nippers")

After that, they are filed and shaped, this time using WAVE's new "Barobe File Quick Black (Flat)/Crystal Coat (Flat)".

The "Quick Black (flat)" has a specially processed cutting edge, and has evolved into a more "cutting" file than the conventional (flat).

Using this cutting ability, you can carefully sharpen the edge by relying on the senses of your eyes and fingers.

Crystal Coat (flat)" has a special coating that prevents clogging due to shavings and plastic powder, allowing you to work smoothly, so it is best to use different types depending on the situation you are in.

For the eyes, after attaching the metallic stickers included in the kit, use Daiso's "Quick-drying UV Resin Solution" to easily create dull, lens-like eyes.

The Caliburn in the play had a strong impression of a flat hand, so the flat hand included in the "HG 1/144 MiraSoul Flight Unit Equipment" is used.

Here is a picture of the finished Caliburn.

The particle feeling of the ultimate rainbow gives a nice effect.

The pose of "I will stop you! pose can be reproduced.

The last scene where Parmet is broken down to the particle level is reproduced.

It had been a while since I had seen a Gundam that moved me from its first appearance and made me want to build it, so this time I was able to enjoy building it while remembering famous scenes and songs from the play.

I hope this will relieve some of the "Witch of Mercury" loss. ......

Well then, see you again in the next example!

The Witch From Mercury "Takashi Omama

   Jewel Days "Aina the End

   Blessing "YOASOBI
