Tender young Miyazaki chicken with our special tartar sauce! Chicken Nanban Set Meal 1,000 yen at Chicken Nanban Specialty Restaurant Himuka Shokudo!

When you come to Akihabara, you may have a hard time deciding where to have lunch.

To help you decide, here are some Akiba eats that I, Shun Gori, who is always roaming around Akihabara even when I don't have any plans to visit, recommend.

As an Akibaite who likes to spend money on his hobbies, I will mainly introduce dishes that can be eaten for less than 1,000 yen, assuming that the amount of money you can spend for lunch is within 1,000 yen.

When you think of Akiba, you think Ramen! No, no, no, Chinese! Beef bowls! But in fact, there are many tastes from all over the world and all over Japan. However, did you know that you can actually enjoy flavors from all over the world and Japan?

This time, we visited "Chicken Nanban Specialty Restaurant Himuka Shokudo," which is famous for serving Miyazaki Prefecture's special chicken nanban.

Chicken Nanban Specialty Restaurant Himuka Shokudo is located along Chuo-dori Avenue, about a 7-minute walk from the Electric Town exit of JR Akihabara Station or a 1-minute walk from Suehirocho Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line.

The restaurant has only a counter with 15 seats. The aisles are quite wide, so you can dine without feeling oppressed.

The interior of the restaurant is clean, and the manager's handmade decorations, such as the decorations used in the Kaguraden of Takachiho Kagura and wind chimes, remind you of Miyazaki Prefecture, and make you feel as if you are in Miyazaki.

The restaurant does not have a lunch menu, but offers a selection of set menus. In addition to chicken, rice and soup are served.

There is also a wide selection of drinks, but the most notable is the "Chicken Nanban Beer. It is said to be "a bitter beer that goes well with Chicken Nanban. If I had not been there for the interview, I would have ordered it.

Other drinks available for order include Miyazaki shochu, hyuganatsu sours, and other drinks that can only be found in Miyazaki.

My favorite dish was the "Honjo Miyazaki Chicken Nanban Set Meal (half piece)" (1,000 yen). If I wasn't covering the event, I would have had the "Honjo Miyazaki Chicken Nanban Set Meal (One Piece)" (1,400 yen), but since my budget is limited to 1,000 yen, I opted for the half piece this time.

You can choose from "small," "normal," or "large" servings of rice, and the price is the same regardless of the size. This time, I ordered a "large portion.

Since even a half portion is this large, you may want to consult with your stomach before deciding on the size.

The chicken used at Himuka Shokudo is naturally grown in Miyazaki Prefecture. The tartar sauce, which is the key to the flavor of the chicken nanban, is made by hand from mayonnaise. The vinegar in which the chicken is marinated has been carefully blended and adjusted more than 1,000 times.

As a seasonal recommendation, we recommend that you try the cabbage served with the tartar sauce.

It is not only very tasty, but you can eat every last bit of the special tartar sauce, killing two birds with one stone.

The soup that comes with the set meal has chicken broth and chicken meat in it, which goes well with both the chicken nanban and rice.

According to the restaurant's explanation, yuzu kosho (yuzu pepper) goes well with chicken nanban. It is true that the yuzu gives the dish a fresh aroma, making it even more delicious. It may be used to change the flavor.

I did not try it this time, but next time I would like to try Tabasco with tartar sauce.

If you have leftover rice, don't worry, there are takuan (pickled radish) and sesame salt on hand. You can enjoy the rice until the end.

You can order extra meat, soup, and tartar sauce, so if you don't have enough to eat, add more.

This time, we visited "Chicken Nanban Specialty Restaurant Himuka Shokudo," where you can enjoy their special chicken nanban made with Miyazaki young chickens. The young Miyazaki chicken served with mayonnaise and handmade tartar is a must-try dish.

Next time, I will have the "authentic Miyazaki chicken nanban set meal (one piece)" (1,400 yen) in private (......), and left the restaurant with a promise.
