Gintama On Theater 2D Baragaki-hen," a re-edited version of a popular episode from the TV anime "Gintama," will be screened as a limited three-week event at theaters nationwide starting on November 10, 2023 (Friday).

Gintama" is a very popular comic series published in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha), which has sold more than 55 million copies. It has been adapted into live-action films as well as an animated TV series and a movie version, and is loved by fans all over the world.
The "Gintama 20th Anniversary Project" is currently underway to celebrate the 20th anniversary of "Gintama" from 2023, the 20th anniversary of the serialization, to 2026, the 20th anniversary of the broadcast of the "Gintama" anime.

As part of the "Gintama 20th Anniversary Project," "Gintama on Theater 2D Baragaki-hen," a re-edited version of a popular episode of the TV anime "Gintama," will be screened in theaters nationwide for a limited period of three weeks from November 10, 2023 (Friday). About "GINTAMA
Gintama" (Hideaki Sorachi / Shueisha Jump Comics) is a very popular manga series published in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha) with a total of more than 55 million copies in print. This painful entertainment packed with huggable gags and spectacular action, as well as human feelings and bonds, has been adapted into an animated TV and theater series (produced by BN Pictures) and a live-action film.
In March 2023, an anime adaptation of the spin-off novel "3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei" (written by Tomohito Osaki, original story by Hideaki Sorachi) has also been announced and is currently in production. Even after 20 years since its serialization, the series continues to grow into a content that continues to be enjoyed and loved by many fans through a variety of media mixes.

The series was adapted into an animated television series in 2006, and a total of 367 episodes were broadcast before the final episode on October 7, 2018.
In 2010, "Gintama the Movie: A New Translation of Gintama the Movie - Benizakura-hen" was released, followed in 2013 by "Gintama the Movie: The Complete Arc - Manjo-ya yo Eienare" written by the original author Sorachi Hideaki, and in 2021, "Gintama the Final," a movie depicting the last episode of the original story.
