A true taste of Osaka! This volume of food is less than 1,000 yen! Okonomiyaki Yukari AKIBA-ICHI" Pork Flatbread Udon set meal for 880 yen!

When you come to Akihabara, you may have a hard time deciding where to have lunch.

To help you decide, here are some Akiba eats that I, Shun Gori, who is always roaming around Akihabara even when I don't have any plans to visit, recommend.

As an Akibaite who likes to spend his money on his hobbies, I will mainly introduce dishes that can be eaten for less than 1,000 yen, assuming that the amount of money you can spend for lunch is less than 1,000 yen.

If you eat only ramen or curry, you will get bored. I would like to eat something different once in a while, but that does not mean I am in the mood for kebabs or hamburgers.

After much deliberation, I decided to visit "Okonomiyaki Yukari AKIBA-ICHI," which offers the true taste of Osaka.

Okonomiyaki Yukari AKIBA-ICHI is located on the third floor of UDX, just in front of the Electric Town exit of JR Akihabara Station, about a four-minute walk from the restaurant district called AKIBA-ICHI.

The restaurant has about 42 seats at tables only. The interior is decorated in a modern Japanese style, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The large windows overlook the Yamanote Line.

The lunch menu* offers a choice of "Okonomiyaki Lunch" for 930 yen (tax included), "Hiroshima-yaki Lunch" for 1,030 yen (tax included), and "Pork Hirayaki Udon Set Meal" for 880 yen (tax included). (*On weekdays only)

As you know, okonomiyaki is an Osaka specialty where all the ingredients are mixed into the batter before grilling. Hiroshima-yaki is a Hiroshima specialty, which is made by layering the ingredients such as rice, cabbage, eggs, and pork, and then grilling them.

And "Pork Hirayaki," which is not well known in the Kanto region, is a dish influenced by Russian cuisine and originated in Osaka. It is made by grilling pork and eggs on a griddle and topping them with mayonnaise and sauce, making it a staple dish in the Kansai region.

The most recommended dish is the "Pork Flatbread Udon Noodle Set Meal. The set meal includes yaki udon, rice, and miso soup for 880 yen (tax included), and even if you order a large portion of rice and yaki udon, the price remains the same, which is so unbeatable that it makes one worry about the restaurant's business.

This time I ordered the "Pork Flatbread Yaki Udon Set Meal! Incidentally, I asked for a large serving of rice and yaki udon.

Even though Akihabara is a jewel box of carbohydrates, it is a rare sight to see nothing but carbohydrates in every corner of the picture, isn't it? The miso soup is the only saving grace, though,

The total calorie count is probably between 1,500 and 2,000 kcal.

The pork flatbread is filled with large pieces of pork, and the Osaka-style sweet sauce and mayonnaise match each other very well!

The yakiudon noodles are seasoned with soy sauce butter, which goes very well with rice.

Although it is hard to say which is the main dish, the pork flatbread or the yakiudon, both are well prepared, and you can enjoy the "true taste of Osaka".

Each table has an iron plate that is heated, so the yakiudon is always hot and ready to enjoy. As you continue to eat, the yakiudon becomes crispy as it cooks, but this can be enjoyed as a kind of change of taste.

If you are worried about the udon getting burnt because you eat it too slowly, you may want to ask the chef to turn down the heat.

It is said that "pork flatbread on rice" or "yakiudon on rice" is not well accepted by people in Kanto, but you should give it a try; it is much tastier than expected.

This sensation of carbohydrates rushing in after every bite is hard to resist.

When I first saw it, I thought I would never be able to finish it, but after a long time I could not stop eating the real Osaka taste.

By the way, my stomach was full to bursting, and I have never felt such a sense of satisfaction for 880 yen in my life.

This time, I visited "Okonomiyaki Yukari AKIBA-ICHI" where I could taste the "real taste of Osaka.

In Akihabara, where ramen and curry are the norm, there is probably no other place in town where you can enjoy the authentic taste of Osaka at a reasonable price. If you are having trouble deciding what to eat, I highly recommend that you include this restaurant in your list of choices.

In addition to the "real taste of Osaka," the restaurant also offers other unique dishes such as the "Umashiri Spicy Yakisoba" (1,050 yen), which is just the right amount of hot and tasty, and the "Shin Indian" (1,580 yen), which is grilled cheese and keema curry.

Shun Gori, who is not a fan of hot and spicy food, vowed, "Next time, I will definitely try the spicy yakisoba! He left the restaurant vowing, "Next time, I will definitely try the spicy yakisoba!
