The Netflix anime series "Onimusha" has been set to begin distribution on November 2, 2023. In addition, a trailer, key visuals, and cast information have been released.

The first animated adaptation of "Onimusha," Capcom's classic warring states survival action game 21 years after its release, is set in the early Edo period (1603-1868), when the warring world is about to end and the country is on the verge of peace. The main character, Musashi Miyamoto, receives a secret order to borrow the legendary "Oni no Kagome" and embarks on a perilous journey to defeat a monster that suddenly appears in a world infested with "Genma" (phantom demons).
The film is directed by Takashi Miike, who has wowed moviegoers with his innovative use of sword fighting in "Thirteen Assassins" and "Infinite Dweller. Toshiro Mifune, one of Japan's most famous actors of all time, is the model for the character of Musashi Miyamoto.

Akio Otsuka, who has played the role of Nobunaga Oda in the "Onimusha" game series for over 10 years and also played Musashi Miyamoto in "Onimusha Muyoriden," and who has played the game himself, will play the role of Musashi Miyamoto.
