The first OVA in the "Lupin III: Conspiracy of the Fuuma Clan" series was released in April 1988, and was pre-released in some theaters in December 1987.
It is the only film in the Lupin series in which the main voice actors have been completely changed. Kazuhide Tomonaga, who directed the car chase scene in "Lupin the Third: Cagliostro's Castle," directed the film, and the car chase between Lupin, Dougo, and Zenigata is one of the highlights of the film.

<Story> "Lupin III: The Conspiracy of the Fuuma Clan
During the wedding ceremony of the Suminawa family's heiress, Murasaki, who is skilled in magic tricks, and her son, Gomon, a mysterious group of people break into the wedding. The target is a pot that has been handed down in the Suminawa family for generations. Lupin and the others in attendance protect the urn, but Murasaki is kidnapped instead. The head of the Suminawa family tells Lupin that Murasaki must give up the urn in order to protect its secret, and that they are dealing with the Fuuma clan, who have been after the Suminawa family's treasure for 400 years. However, Lupin takes the jar and goes with Gendo and Gemon to the place where the enemy is waiting. Meanwhile, Zenigata, who had been ordained because he thought Lupin was dead, returns to the scene of the crime under the direction of Detective Kazami, the new Lupin handler.
