Part 2 of an interview with the fall anime "Heat Up the Pork Liver! It's not just a work about boinking beautiful girls! Tomori Kusunoki (who plays Jess) talks about the charm of this work!

An interview with Sadacheng Matsuoka, who plays the main character, Pig, in the fall anime "Pork Liver Heats Up," has arrived!

Pork Liver Heats Up" is a Japanese light novel by Takuma Sakai. The illustrations are by Asagi Tohsaka. After winning the Gold Prize at the 26th Dengeki Shosetsu Taisho (Dengeki Novel Award), it was published by Dengeki Bunko in March 2020. A total of 250,000 copies have been sold.

This work is an unusual otherworldly reincarnation fantasy that describes the adventures of the main character, who lost consciousness as a result of eating raw pig liver and was reincarnated as a "pig" in another world, and Jess, a girl who can read other people's minds.

The interaction between the pig, who is a pig and therefore everything he says is from his heart, and Jess, a kind-hearted girl who can hear the voice of the pig's heart, is a funny story, but at the same time, it has a surprisingly serious setting and drama that is not a simple story.

Akiba Research Institute is paying close attention to this work, which can be called the dark horse, or rather the dark pig, of the fall 2023 cool season (......)! Here is an interview with Sadashijo Matsuoka, who plays the main character, Pig, and Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Jess.

Read this interview and you may be able to better understand the appeal of "Heat Up the Pork Liver"! This time, Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Jess, appears on the stage!

───Please tell us how you felt when you were chosen to appear in the anime of "Pork Liver Heat It Up".

Kusunoki: I am very honored to be cast in the anime since the original PV. The work has a lot of aggressive dialogue and conversations, so I was looking forward to seeing how the dialogue would turn out.

What kind of character is Jess? What kind of character is Jess?

Kusunoki: She is a beautiful blonde girl who has a kindness that makes me respond to the monologue of a pig, which I would have ignored if I were her. She is a girl who doesn't know much about the world and has a dangerous side, but I think she is a fluffy character who doesn't really know what she is thinking.

─ ─ "She is extremely pure. She can read other people's minds," "Sometimes she does mischievous pranks," and "But she has some serious problems...? I would like to ask you what you paid attention to and what you were conscious of when you played Jess.

Kusunoki: As I mentioned earlier, I was very conscious of not revealing too much of her inner self. I wanted her to be cute to the audience, but at the same time, her true feelings are somewhat empty. I imagined fine-tuning her facial expressions so that her sensitive characterization would not be blurred.

─ I think you and Mr. Matsuoka worked together on the recording. If you don't mind me asking, what were some of the memorable episodes during the recording?

Kusunoki: As the story progressed, I was concerned about the balance of the work and wondered if it would be easier to watch if it were a little more comical here ......? I was impressed by Matsuoka-san, who was concerned about the balance of the work. It is hard for Jess to take advantage of this, but I thought it was wonderful that he was able to put together a play that kept the character's sense and the viewer's feelings in mind.

─ What is the charm of the pig?

Kusunoki: The gap between his comical and creepy side and his heroic good looks!

───Please tell us about the fun of the anime "Heat Up the Pig's Liver".

Kusunoki: The way the foreshadowing, which we didn't even think was foreshadowing, is gradually recovered, and the way the story is told immerses us in the story through our emotional involvement with the characters!

───One of the charms of this work is the "lovey-dovey" element between the pig and Jess. If you had to pick a highlight from that part, what scene would it be?

Kusunoki: "You can't pet her head with pig's feet." ...... I love this line.

─ ─ Finally, could you give a comment to the readers of Akiba Research Institute?

Kusunoki: "Heat up the pig's liver" is a work that "looks cute" like the pig in this work, but "inside is very hot". It is not just a work about boinking beautiful girls!

If you are reading this interview, I am sure you have already checked out the full-length anime, so please tell your friends who don't know anything about it, "There's a beautiful blonde girl in it, ....... Let's sink into the swamp together!
