The first part of the interview with the fall anime "Pigs' Livers Heat Up! Sadayuki Matsuoka (who plays the role of a pig) talks about what he "paid attention to" in order not to be too perverted (......)!

An interview with Sadacheng Matsuoka, who plays the main character, Pig, in the fall anime "Pork Liver Heats Up," has arrived!

Pork Liver Heats Up" is a Japanese light novel by Takuma Sakai. The illustrations are by Asagi Tohsaka. After winning the Gold Prize at the 26th Dengeki Shosetsu Taisho (Dengeki Novel Award), it was published by Dengeki Bunko in March 2020. A total of 250,000 copies have been sold.

This work is an unusual otherworldly reincarnation fantasy that describes the adventures of the main character, who lost consciousness as a result of eating raw pig liver and was reincarnated as a "pig" in another world, and Jess, a girl who can read other people's minds.

The interaction between the pig, who is a pig and therefore everything he says is from his heart, and Jess, a kind-hearted girl who can hear the voice of the pig's heart, is a funny story, but at the same time, it has a surprisingly serious setting and drama that is not a simple story.

Akiba Research Institute is paying close attention to this work, which can be called the dark horse, or rather the dark pig, of the fall 2023 cool season (......)! Here is an interview with Sadashijo Matsuoka, who plays the main character, Pig, and Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Jess.

By reading this interview, you may be able to better understand the appeal of "Heat Up the Pork Liver"! Let's start with the interview with Sadayuki Matsuoka!

───Please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would appear in the "Pork Liver Heat It Up" anime.

Matsuoka: I was very grateful to be allowed to continue from the PV. I was very happy to be able to continue from the PV, and with Mr. Kusunoki on the other side, I felt excited that another interesting work would be created! I had a sense of excitement from the moment the decision was made.

─ What kind of character is the main character, the pig? Please tell us what makes him so appealing from your point of view.

Matsuoka: He can read your mind, but he is not discouraged at all (laughs). (Laughs.) He says straight out what he would normally be too scared to say. In a sense, he has a mentality of steel. He is also surprisingly helpful in a pinch, and is smart and dependable, mobilizing all of his knowledge of the real world.

─ ─ I know that you have played various characters in the past, but was there anything you were particular about or careful about this time, playing a human reincarnated as a pig?

Matsuoka: Basically, I am the same as a human, so I didn't change my acting too much just because I became a pig. I tried not to become too much of a pervert. There were some words that I thought would be bad if I went any further, so I wrapped them up in a very indirect way!

─ Were there any impressive directions or acting instructions during recording? I felt that you changed the nuance a little bit depending on the situation, especially when you were talking to Jess, talking to yourself, or monologuing. If you don't mind me asking, please tell us about the parts of your performance that you focused on this time.

Matsuoka: I almost didn't think about anything at all from the beginning (laughs). (Laughs.) I thought, "They can hear me anyway! And it was exquisitely difficult to separate the lines of the script from the monologue, so I just went with my instincts from the beginning (laughs). (Laughs) There was almost no direction. I was allowed to do whatever I wanted!

─ ─ I think you and Kusunoki-san worked together on the recording. If you don't mind me asking, what were some of the most memorable episodes during the recording?

Matsuoka: We often said that this work was very hard. Today, it was almost all of us! I was like, "I can't wait to have more friends!

─ What do you find attractive about Jess?

Matsuoka Cute is right!

───Please tell us what you find interesting about the anime "Heating Up the Pork Liver".

Matsuoka: Heat up the pig's liver!

───One of the charms of this work is the "lovey-dovey" element between the pig and Jess. If you had to pick a highlight from that part, what scene would it be?

Matsuoka: At first, my feelings for Jess are not so much a love affair, but more like a partner on a journey together. What kind of experiences they have together and how their relationship develops is one of the charms of this work. If I had to pick a memorable scene, it would be when they are riding on the pig's back!

─ ─ Do you have any comments for the readers of Akiba Research Institute?

Matsuoka: This work makes you laugh, cry, and laugh again! It is a really interesting work, so please watch it!
