New Gundam Model Reviews] Let's build the "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Ra Gundam" easily and coolly! YU-GO's Character Modeling LABO

Thanks to all of you,"YU-GO'sCharacter ModelingLABO"has reachedits 10th anniversary! Thank you very much for your continued support! For our11thissue,we would like to introduce"ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Ra Gundam"released by Bandai Spirits!

Have you seen the "Gundam Build Metaverse," a video commemorating the 10th anniversary of the "Gundam Build Series"? It was shown at the "Gundam Next Future -EAST/WEST/DIGITAL-" event held the other day, where you can experience the future of the Gundam series, and since the video distribution has started, we are sure that many of you have already watched all the episodes.
The characters from the previous Build series "dreamed together" and the content of the movie was very exciting, as if to say, "How can the heroes of the past perform together? The movie is full of fan service (Maggie is already on ......) and a parade of great lines that bring the characters to life!

Director Masami Ohbari's mecha action was also very cool, and the battle scenes with the action BGMs of the past episodes were just perfect! (I especially loved the flow of "Hero on the Edge" (Re:RISE) and "Meikyo Jyusui" (Tri) in the second episode!)
And the new theme song by BACK-ON and the new background music composed by Mr. Yuki Hayashi, which cannot be missed when it comes to the Build series, made for a great 10th anniversary video!
Once again, I felt "I'm so glad I love the Build series! I am so glad that I love the Build series" and "It's a waste that it ends after only 3 episodes! I want to see more of these characters! I can't begin to tell you about it, so I'll just start with the first episode.
There is no end to the story, so let's start the review!

Let's start with the box art.

This box art is the work of director Masami Ohari! It's an amazing time to have the director of the main anime series in charge of the box art for the main character's Gunpla.
You can feel the burning enthusiasm and "feelings" of the director, Masami Ohari, who used to buy Gundam plastic models in line when he was in junior high school.

The kit contents look like this.

The vivid red and clear pink additional parts are eye-catching. The number of parts is small, so it looks easy to assemble.

The base kit is the "ENTRY GRADE RX-78-2 Gundam" with one additional runner. It is surprising that this alone changes the silhouette considerably.

It is exciting to have clear parts.

The existing diverted parts have also changed their molding color.

I tried to assemble it immediately!

It is easy to assemble because of the touch gate specification, but this time I used nippers.

It is possible to change to the prototype I specification by changing the backpack.

The wide range of movement allows you to pose it in action poses.

The posing of the box art is also as shown!

In the first episode, it is equipped with a beam javelin and a hyper bazooka, so you can divert it from the "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam (Full Weapon Set)".

■Challenge to build with easy processing!

Now let's build it again, this time with some modifications!

Parts such as the blade antenna are sharply shaped as usual.

In the second episode, the beam rifle was depicted mounted on the waist, so we used neodymium magnets to make it possible to attach the rifle. (In the example, HIQ PARTS "square 4mm x 2mm, height 1mm" is used.)

Refer to the image for the mounting position.

The most fascinating part of this work is the "OHARI HAND" which is full of ovalism!

The play of the hand was impressive in the play, so I tried to reproduce it by cutting and pasting the builder's parts. Mr. Cement SP from GSI Creos was used for adhesion.

For the sensor part of the beam rifle, I pasted my own metallic stickers.

I punched the green metallic stickers between the green metallic stickers on the Wave "HG Detail Punch Fine Long Round".

Not only punching plastic plates, but also stickers, etc. can be punched out, so the range of expression can be expanded.

Is this finished?"
I don't know. I might want to fix it more. But if you make a mistake, just start over. Trial and error is the key.

So it is finished!

Again, a little painting has been applied.

The yellow part was changed to gold in the image of the main story; it is based on SHOW UP's "Cosmic Silver" and candy-painted with clear yellow.

The red part was sprayed with a mixture of GSI Creos' "Shine Red" and "Fluorescent Red" to give it a vivid look since the story takes place in Hawaii.

The twin eyes were painted with GSI Creos "Gundam Marker EX Gundam Mekki Silver" and coated with Celia's UV resin solution Clear Yellow. It is recommended as it gives life to the eyes just like in the play.

■Pay attention to the photo booth you can make at home!

Since the last issue, we have been using Doyusha's "Awesome! LED Photography Studio Pro for Hobby" from Doyusha.

It is very convenient because it is easy to carry and can be quickly assembled and set up.

Two LED lighting plates with high light intensity are included. They can be mounted anywhere you like.

When set up, it looks like this.

Stepless dimming can also be adjusted with the controller. This is quite useful when shooting.

Five types of backsheets are also included. Various colors of backsheets are available to accommodate all kinds of shooting.

The lid opens and closes on the top surface, so it is possible to shoot from directly above.

The separately sold "Awesome! Multi-Action Turntable" (sold separately) can also be used for video shooting.

This one is powered by batteries and a USB cable, so it can be used at exhibitions.

The "Awesome! LED Photography Studio Pro for Hobby" will greatly improve the quality of example images.

In box art pose.

Posing with the beam naginata. Rio-kun's bushido spirit comes through.

The "Ohari Hand" was made for the "Mise-en-scene" action, so it can be used for cool poses.

Using neodymium magnets, the beam rifle can be mounted on the waist as shown.

The Build Series is associated with this visual image, so I made a handy display base by combining a "display base" and "mirror-like tile stickers" from Celia.

Some parts are spray painted with "Clear Blue" from Gaianotes.

The base looks like this when placed on the table.

The base has become a base that gives a sense of the world of the Gundam Build series.

How was it? The "Gundam Build Series" is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and it looks like it will be even more exciting. Looking back, one of the reasons I started building Gundam models again was because I was lucky enough to be invited to the Gundam Build Fighters eve party just before the first episode of the series aired! I was lucky enough to be invited to the "Gundam Build Fighters: The Night Before the First Episode Airing" and received a "Build Strike Gundam" kit as a souvenir, so when I think about it, I am deeply moved to realize that 10 years have already passed since then.

At that time, I had no idea that I would be making Gundam plastic models for work.

As it is, the next 10 years. And even more so, the next 10 years, and may it lead to the "next future" 100 years from now. ......

See you again in the next example!
