So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Let's start the 85th issue!
Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Model Vol. 85 MODEROID TYPE97 TFV-EX Clubman High Leg
This time we will introduce the "TYPE97 TFV-EX Clubman High Leg," a quadrupedal Reaver that appeared in "Mobile Police Patlabor" from Good Smile Company's MODEROID series.
It is no exaggeration to say that the MODEROID PATLABOR series is leading the recent rush to release "Patlabor" items, and now even a Reaver that is not in human form has finally appeared.
Many of you may have been surprised to see the kit of this mecha, wondering if there is any Reaver that is no longer on the market.
In the back right corner of the package illustration, you can see a (?) damaged Ingram. The damaged Ingram is depicted in the back right corner of the package illustration. This kit is not so difficult to assemble because it is not so finely divided into parts compared to the humanoid Reaver.
Let's take a look at the unassembled state.
The main block is placed on top of the base from which the four legs extend. The high legs are not humanoid, so there is a sense of pressure, but at the same time, it is not a deformed object, but rather a working machine. I feel that "PATLABOR" embodies the fact that it is different from ordinary robots. This is one of the charms of "PATLABOR.
You can imagine that the power source is located at the back of the body. If you look closely, you can see that the design of the legs are different in the front and rear.
Be careful not to damage the antenna parts on the top and rear of the main body. Clear parts are also used in some parts.
The sensor in the center of the front comes in two versions, one painted clear red and the other colorless and transparent. The colorless transparent part can be painted with the color of your choice.
In addition, the indicator-like parts on the base are clear parts.
On the underside of the base, you can also see the modeling of the hooks attached to the tips of the wires. The joint hole in the center can be used for displaying with "The Simple Stand" (sold separately).
Back side. Clear parts are used for indicator parts here as well. The antenna can be rotated at the connection to fine-tune its direction, but be careful not to bend it when turning it.
Front legs. Small clear parts are used to peek through the armor. The front legs are shaped like crab scissors, sharp enough to be useful in combat.
The back legs have three claws on each side, as if the stability of the fuselage is a priority.
The head part can rotate 360° with a shaft connection.
The movable legs are the key to this model, and they move well. When crouched down to its full height, it is this height.
This is the height when it is stretched to its full height.
I compared its size with Ingram Unit 3 from the movie "PATLABOR 2 THE MOVIE," which I used in my previous review.
I didn't pay attention to it when I was touching the Clubman High Leg alone, but it was quite a large aircraft.
The movable leg section is almost the same in front and rear, and the knee section is double-jointed.
Roll rotation is possible at the joints. The base of the legs can also rotate with an axial connection. Swinging to the left and right is also possible.
The two smaller front leg claws can open and close respectively.
The rear legs are responsible for the stability of the fuselage and are more mobile than the front legs. The leg necks can be pulled out and then swung.
In addition to opening and closing the claw, the leg necks can be tilted to the left or right.
If balanced, it can stand on its own even with the front legs lifted.
The same applies to the back legs.
When the legs are extended to their full extent, they occupy such a large area.
Clubman High Legs crouching down.
If balanced well, it can stand on its back legs alone. If he were to come at you like this, Ingram would be in a pinch.
The dummy wheel parts in the front and rear legs can be replaced with wheels in the deployed state to recreate the running mode. It is possible to run in "Korogashi" mode.
The shape of the wheel parts are different for the front and rear.
Use "THE Simple Stand" to display Clubman HANDS jumping at you with "Hiyoyi! You can also use "THE Simple Stand" to create a Clubman High Leg that jumps at you. It's starting to look kind of cute.
Here are the clear, colorless parts that are selectable parts. The same shape parts painted in clear red are incorporated. You can also use it to change the color of the main body by painting it the color of your choice.
These are the water-transfer decals included in this kit. There is one spare yellow decal for each. This time, after applying these decals, I added a simple touch.
Decals and dry brush!
After applying the decals, I dry brushed the decals with Gaianotes' Gilding Wax (Silver) to give them the feel of industrial machinery.
By drybrushing the decals with an eye to the sharp edges and angled corners, we were able to express the peeling of the paint film caused by rubbing during work.
The tip of the claw is likely to bump against something, so I dry brushed it a little more strongly with silver.
The hole-like details on the back legs were also clearly defined by dry brush. The three-dimensional effect can be emphasized even without applying black ink, so please give it a try.
That's all for now.
I started to believe that Mecha-Sma is going to go far when they released the Reaver Carrier, but with the release of the Clubman High Leg, the future of the lineup is now completely unreadable.
There has never been a more complete line of "Patlabor" mecha sculptures, other than the rubber deformed figures in capsule form that were released at the time of the anime's development.
I thought to myself, "Not yet the Phantom!" "Not even Waste No. 13?" The requests of those who are thinking, "Not yet Phantom!
Let's wait and see what will happen in the future!
