Ragnarok Online" official cosplayer Yokyuan's 20 years of official cosplay activity was recognized by Guinness World Records!

Yokyuun, an official cosplayer of "Ragnarok Online," was recognized by Guinness World Records as the "Longest Time (Female) as an Official Video Game Cosplayer.

Yokyuun started her career as an official cosplayer of RO in March 2003, and has been appearing in "Ragnarok Online" events, programs, and advertisements for more than 20 years. To commemorate her 20 years of activity, an official Guinness World Record certificate presentation ceremony was held in Tokyo on Tuesday, November 14, 2023.

At the certificate presentation ceremony, Ms. Yokyun appeared wearing the costume of the "Night Watch," a new profession that is scheduled to be implemented in the game*. After showing a profile video, she looked back on her career and spoke emotionally about the difficulties she had in cosplaying because there were not many types of wigs available at the time, and even if there were, they were extremely expensive.

When the official Guinness World Records certifier, Justin Patterson, handed him the certificate, he accepted it with a big smile and again expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all parties involved.

He also mentioned that over the past 20 years, "cosplay" has become a hobby that can be enjoyed by the general public, and he strongly expressed his commitment to the further development of the cosplay culture that Japan is proud to share with the rest of the world. He also spoke passionately about the 20 years he has spent with "Ragnarok Online," including episodes that reveal his love of cosplay and his deep knowledge of the game.

Ragnarok Online" will celebrate its first anniversary on December 1 this year.

The new 4th profession "Nightwatch" and other expanded 4th professions are scheduled to be implemented on November 28, 2023 (Tuesday), along with the 21st anniversary event of "Ragnarok Online".
