A relay interview on the highly anticipated winter anime "Bermuda Triangle"! The 4th interview is with Moeka Hiraguri, who plays the role of Kanon!

The broadcast of the new anime "Bermuda Triangle ~Colorful Pastorale~," which will color the winter of 2019, is finally approaching on Saturday, January 12.

Bermuda Triangle -Colorful Pastorale-" is a spin-off of the trading card game-themed anime "Card Fight! Vanguard," which has been a series of trading card game-themed anime that has been running since the winter of 2011 through the spring of 2018. It depicts the daily life of the mermaid idol "Bermuda △ (Triangle)," which boasts immense popularity in "Vanguard," until its formation.

The original character design is by Takuya Fujima of "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid" fame. The collaboration of popular creators such as director Junji Nishimura and series composition by Michiko Yokote is also a delight, but the cast of "Bermuda Triangle" is the most interesting part!

--What kind of character is Kanon? What kind of character is Kanon and how do you feel about actually playing her?

Hiraguri: "I think Kanon is an honest girl." She tends to be seen as "quiet and shy," but she is able to clearly express her thoughts and what is important to her. She is just the type that takes time to open up. That is why I feel the warmth of everyone who lives in Parrel, including Sonata and the other four, when I play the role of Kanon. If they are willing to come to me when they first meet me,...... then I feel that it's okay for me to put myself out there,...... too. I often played the role by overlapping with myself, perhaps because I myself am similar to Kanon.

--Bermuda △" was originally an idol unit popular in "Cardfight! Vanguard", were you aware of their existence?　Also, what did you think when you first heard about the "Mermaid Idol" setting?

Hiraguri: I knew they existed. But I don't know much about it! I started following them recently! The more popular they are, the more there are of them. ...... (laughs) Mermaid! Idols! I was upset, but I thought if Kanon is living in that world, I want to be (an inhabitant of that world) too.

--Please tell us about the charms and highlights of this film.

Hiraguri: In this work, girls who are not so different from us in age are having a good time, and sometimes they are sad or troubled. Even though they are mermaids, we can relate to each of them, which I think is the most attractive point. Also, you can find many "aha" moments that only mermaids have, so I would like you to pay attention to them!

--What scenes in the film, as far as you can tell, left a strong impression on you? Also, what do you think are the highlights of the anime?

Hiraguri: The scene where Kanon gets to know Sonata and the other four. The four of them are trying to figure out how Kanon can fit in. You can really feel how much they care for each other, and I think that's why Kanon was able to fit in. I hope you will pay attention to the thoughts and feelings of each of the five members and watch the show while cheering them on to do their best! --What was the atmosphere like at the recording studio?　Any impressive episodes from the recording sessions?

Hiraguri: There is a good amount of tension during recording, and it is a very fun place to work. There are several scenes in the anime where the senior members sing, and they are very funny and interesting! I knew I shouldn't laugh because it was the recording, but when I looked to the side, I saw Rari-chan (*Rarisa Tago Takeda, who plays Sonata) looking down and trying not to laugh (laughs). (Laughs). At that time, we worked together to endure it desperately and managed to get through it .......

--(Laughs) - In this production, you will be working with Inoue Kikuko, Hidaka Noriko, and other senior cast members. Did you have any interactions or learn anything from the senior cast members?

Hiraguri: What left an impression on me was "Hey, hey. Actually, I didn't know that when Kikuko-san said "I'm 17 years old," I was supposed to shove "Hey, hey!" at her. ...... So I got a good lecture from my seniors during the break! (Laughs)

The seniors' acting was amazing. The characters were speaking so vividly, and I learned what it means to act.

--You sang the ending theme song "Shabon.　Please tell us what you thought of it when you sang it.

Hiraguri It is a fluffy and cute song! I was nervous when I first recorded it, but as I sang it, I was filled with joy!　Now that I think about it, it's strange (laughs).
