A "Work Cat" diorama and traditional Japanese "Amezaiku" candy crafts are now available as gacha-gacha! This issue features the latest capsule toys from Toys Cabin (Wacky Kaiyama's latest Gacha exploration No. 82).

We are currently busy preparing for the "Showa Retro Gacha Gacha" exhibition, which will be held on December 2-3, 2023 at Ikebukuro Sunshine City, the sacred land of capsule toys, where the Gashapon department store is located!

Everyone involved is working hard to make the exhibition a success. Cogito Chemical made the phony superhero erasers for the return gift in less than two months. President Suzuki of Hakoniwa Giken, who produced and provided the exhibition fixtures and Wacky Kaizan miniature figures. Mr. Okoshi of Sasuashi for managing the crowdfunding. Mr. Aketo Katsu, a fellow collector who connected us with the project.

And most of all, everyone who supported us through crowdfunding and made the project a reality. Thank you so very, very much. You all gave me a lot of advice and devoted a lot of time to this project. I feel that I have grown even more as a gacha gacha researcher based on this experience. I will continue to advance on the capsule toy path with even more power! Thank you very much for your support.

Now, I would like to take a close-up look at one more manufacturer. Toys Cabin, headquartered in Shizuoka, Japan, has two items to introduce. Please take a look at their intricate craftsmanship!

1/64 Construction Site + Work Cat: 4 types, 400 yen

I have reproduced the work site of the "Work Cat" gacha, which was a big hit in collaboration with Kumamine, in 1/64 scale miniatures. Since my miniatures produced at the event are the same size, I took the liberty of collaborating with them on my YouTube channel.

The contents are really detailed. It is amazing that I was able to sell these for 400 yen. I also appreciate that all sets come with a work cat of about 17 mm.

Set A

Yoshi! The miniature book also includes a kind note saying that the cat "does not stand on its own.

Let's start with the two items common to all sets. The "Cat Barricade" is easy to attach stickers to, but quite difficult to assemble. The mini book recommends using glue. This is also kind. Let's be honest and use it here. A fence-type "Barricade Large" is also included in all sets.

Set A also includes a small barricade, an arrow sign, and a drum. And the "small sign" has a gimmick that opens and closes the legs even though it is such a small size. In addition, a realistically modeled "temporary toilet" is included. Stickers are included for each of them, and they can be finished in a very detailed manner. Use tweezers to apply the stickers neatly.

Set B

Work Cat B is a set of two cats that can take a break with a can of coffee, and the warning sign has been changed to a larger size, but of course the open/close gimmick is still there. The "Signal" is also perfectly sized.

Set C

Work cat C with its hands in a "forward pose! and a miniature that can reproduce civil engineering work are included in this set. The lineup includes a micro-sized "guide pole," "steel plate," heavy equipment for paving "rammers," and "cat car. It was the pose of the cat that concerned me, but I was convinced when I saw the tools! So it was a posture of using rammers and cat cars. And it even comes with rubble. It's so authentic that it's hard not to be impressed!

Set D

In addition to "Work Cat D" in the posture of driving a car, "Barricade Large," "Steel Plate," and "Rubble," which were also included in Set C, this set includes a "Sign Light," "Shovel," and "Pickaxe. When combined with trucks and cars (sold separately), the set will expand the image of the scene. Speaking of Toys Cabin, the company specializes in diorama gacha. The world of dioramas seems to be expanding endlessly.

The attention to detail shows their "love" for "work cats. Please get this serious item and enjoy it.

Doubutsu Amezaiku (Animal Candy Craft): 6 kinds, 300 yen

Japanese traditional culture that has continued since the Edo period is now available as a capsule toy! This is sure to be a big hit with the inbound crowd, isn't it?

The sticky feeling of the Amezaiku, as if it is about to melt, is irresistible! The base and Amezaiku can be stuck to a stick to create a display model about 6 cm tall. A bag and wrapping tie are also included for authenticity. You will surely be enchanted by the authentic miniature.

Cat

This adorable tortoiseshell cat looks like it is basking on the porch. The rounded shape is candy-like. Animal or candy? This last-minute modeling is irresistible.

Parakeet

This parrot has a vivid color scheme. The expression that looks as if it is about to start talking is also nice. The white of the chest area shows through the blue color underneath, giving it a candy-like appearance. The detail is amazing. It is an amazing technique, isn't it?

Fox

A jumping fox with a sense of movement. It seems to be especially popular among foreigners. The tail of the fluffy fox is also expressed by the unique waviness of Amezaiku, and it is a great work of art. Don't say, "It's a waste to eat! ...... Oh, this product was not edible.

Rabbit

The rabbit running through the streets is very dynamic and well sculpted. The roundness of the outline is well done. It is so realistic that we can imagine a craftsman actually making it.

Dog

Is this an Akita dog? The twists of the tail and legs are just like candy. The hair is a unique color of food coloring. It is amazing that it can be expressed so well. The dots on the ears, eyes, and nose are also cute!

Panda

Here is a delightful panda that both children and adults love. He is in a good mood holding a bamboo grass. It would take a skilled craftsman to express this in candy. It is amazing that the roundness of the buttocks looks so delicious!

This time we reviewed two products by Toys Cabin. Both are lovingly sculpted, and I felt the spirit of uncompromising craftsmanship. I was impressed by their attitude of making small but wonderful products without cutting corners.
