The anime channel AT-X will feature Toei Video OVA productions from the late 1980s and 1990s for three consecutive months.

OVA" refers to commercial animation works released on video or laser disc from the 1980s to the early 2000s. For commercial or content reasons, many projects that would have been difficult to produce for TV animation or theatrical animation were produced, and these challenging and exciting works captured the hearts of avid animation fans.

It has now been announced that the animation channel AT-X will feature Toei Video OVA works under the title "Toei Video Adult Anime Festival. The broadcast period will be three months, from December 2023 to February 2024, and will feature works from the late 1980s and 1990s.

In December, "Teito Monogatari," an anime adaptation of Hiroshi Aramata's best-selling novel, "Vampire Wars," a full-length, bizarre SF horror action anime by mystery writer Kiyoshi Kasai, "Soju Senshi: Psychic Wars," an anime adaptation of a violent action novel written by Yasuaki Kadota, "Soshu Jyu Senshi: Psychic Wars," a fierce The lineup includes "Shuranosuke Zanma Chien: The Man with the Deadly Scythe Crest", a gory period action anime with chanbara action and extreme sensuality.

Concept of "Toei Video V-Animation" series
The concept of "Toei Video V-Cinema" is to use fresh actors, a fast-paced and exhilarating story, and the enthusiasm of the director and other staff members. The composition of the animation staff was also a challenge.
In terms of the animation staff, a number of up-and-coming animators were selected to work as animation directors. For the directors and art directors, we also selected up-and-coming staff who are emerging through TV series and other productions, aiming to keep the production of images fresh.

About "The Imperial Tale
The original work is a masterpiece, and the staff's enthusiasm in adapting it to film was great, and each episode is a succession of great scenes. There are some exciting scenes, but I hope that viewers will enjoy it as an anime for adults that challenges the depth of the original work. The staff is a very impressive group of people that you can't get together today, so please pay attention to the credit titles.
