Sony Interactive Entertainment (SEE) released the Access Controller today, Wednesday, December 6, 2023. It is priced at 12,980 yen (tax included).

The "Access Controller" for PS5 is an all-new accessibility controller kit that was first unveiled at this year's CES under the code name "Project Leonardo. It can be customized in a variety of ways to help people everywhere enjoy games more easily, comfortably, and for longer periods of time.

This product allows the button layout to be adjusted to match the range of motion of the person operating it. The included stick caps can also be replaced for a more comfortable playing style.
The product is designed to be used on a flat surface, and its orientation can be rotated and adjusted 360 degrees, and it can be easily secured to an AMPS mount (*1) or a tripod. Furthermore, the distance from the controller to the analog sticks can be adjusted to the player's preference.

(*1) AMPS is an industry standard for mounting screws used to secure accessibility peripherals and other equipment to devices.

Linkage with other controllers
Up to two "Access Controllers" can be combined and used as a single virtual controller. Also, when combined with a DualSense wireless controller or DualSense Edge wireless controller, functions such as haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion sensors, and touchpad swipes can be added.

■Interfacing with external input devices and peripherals
The four 3.5mm AUX jacks can be expanded by connecting external switches, buttons, and analog sticks. These inputs can be changed from the PS5 main unit settings.

Custom profiles
Up to 30 control profiles can be created from the PS5 system settings. In addition, up to 3 profiles can be saved in the "Access Controller" and can be easily switched between them using the profile buttons. Use your favorite control layout depending on the situation in the game.
