AMAKUNITECH GENESIC GAOGAIGAR" Test Shot Version Review! The ultimate GaoGaiGar kit is challenged by voice actor Yasuyuki Tai!

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Let's get started with the 86th issue!

Taiyuki's Weekend Plastic Model Vol. 86 AMAKUNITECH Genesic GaoGaiGar

AMAKUNI Kishin Genesic GaoGaiGar, a finished figure designed by Sen-Ti-Reri and released by AMAKUNI, is now available as a plastic kit product as the first in the "AMAKUNITECH" series of plastic kits presented by the figure brand AMAKUNI!

The AMAKUNI representative at the "All Japan Model Hobby Show" held in October 2023 said, "The stickers that come with the figure are the most important part of the figure.

He said, "It would be better without the stickers, wouldn't it? We will color-code the parts that can be separated. The parts that can't be separated will be pre-painted parts!

We received a very user-friendly and strong comment. And now, we are pleased to be able to do an advance review of the kit.

The product is scheduled to go on sale in May 2024. The kit and the "AMAKUNITECH GENESIC GAOGAIGER Decal (water transfer type)" (sold separately) are prototypes. Please note that the specifications may differ from the actual product.

Let's get started with the review!

When looking at the runners, I was particularly interested in the "drill" parts on both knees. This shape is reproduced with only one part of each! The fact that the drill parts don't have any joints is good news for all modelers! Well done!

And only the "G Runner" runner tag looks like a G Stone. Nicely done!

Here are the painted parts. Most of the parts that are troublesome to paint, such as the gadget feather pattern, lion's beak, fangs, and face, have been pre-painted.

This is the head. The antenna and other sharp parts are really sharply finished. The color scheme is reproduced here in great detail thanks to the pre-painted parts.

Here is the lion head on the chest, which is also completed with a combination of pre-painted parts. The coloring is perfect, and the retractable and movable gimmick of the side arms is also inherited from the "AMAKUNI Kishin" version.

This is the gadget gao part. This alone is quite voluminous.

And now, let's take a look at the main body of Genesic GaoGaiGar with decals and matte coating.

It is... the strongest god of destruction.

It is...the ultimate form of courage.

The great legacy we have arrived at.

Its name is the King of Heroes... the Genesic...

GaoGaiGar!

What do you think? The balance of the modeling that allows us to reproduce the angles of the play to this extent. I've overstated the importance of this figure, but now please take a look at it in its entirety!

D'OHHHH!

How do you like the power of this figure? And the precision with which the decals have been reproduced! Of course, the "God of Destruction" look can be seen even without the decals, but by applying the decals, the "mystery" and the "mechanical" look, which seem to be opposite elements, can be achieved at the same time.

As you can see, the tail, which is the nose of Gadget Gao Gao. Each section has a ball-jointed connection, allowing for a certain amount of wiggling.

The aggressive face of GaoGaiGar has been sculpted. The G-stone on the forehead and the eyes are pre-painted parts, and color separation is perfect.

Galleon's eyes and fangs on its chest, cheek ducts, and vertical beak are pre-painted. The fangs are also quite sharp.

The red parts on the waist center block are pre-painted metallic red parts. Only the thruster parts on the thighs have been painted black with 0.1mm pigma.

Other details of each part are clear, so the smear is very effective.

Both legs. The drills on the knees are properly shaped differently on each side.

Genesic GaoGaiGar has no part of the body that can be called the "ankle" in human terms, and its bird-like claws are suddenly protruding from the shin part. The parts connected to the claws can slide up and down respectively. The ground contact is high.

The claws on the legs are also movable. You can roll the claws or grab something with the claws.

Thruster-like details are reproduced on the back of the legs.

Both shoulders. Of course, the difference in the shape of the left and right is reproduced.

Forearms, the difference in the shape of the left and right is reproduced is now a matter of course as a three-dimensional GaoGaiGar. The gimmick of each arm will be described later.

The gadget feather on the back is so large that it hides the main body. And it looks like many parts are intricately overlapping each other. I will show you the deployed state later.

The center part of the back. When the decals are applied, it looks a little different from the previous GaoGaiGar models. Which one do you prefer?

The tip of the tail is made by dividing the parts including clear parts to reproduce the color scheme. In the movie, this part of the tail transforms into various weapons, so the tail is removed when the weapons are used, but this is a prototype, so the tail is always attached to avoid damaging the parts.

Arm parts for wrists, weapons, and protect shades. The Willknife, Bolting Driver, Genesic Bolt, Blow Kun Bolt, and Protect Bolt, which were included in the optional parts set for the "AMAKUNI Kishin," are now standard equipment.

Surprisingly movable! Check out the range of motion!

The hair is molded in clear orange and divided into three blocks, each with ball joints for facial expressions.

The head is ball-jointed. The pedestal part under the neck can also be tilted back and forth.

The chest and abdomen can be flexed back and forth.

Twist can be added here.

The chest can also be tilted to the side. The range of movement is much wider than it looks.

Shoulder armor is movable independently of the arms. The arms rotate at the connecting axis with the torso. Horizontal lifting is possible up to about 90°.

The base of the shoulders can be pulled out, which is very useful when posing the figure in action poses such as the "Hell and Heaven" special move.

The front shoulder armor can be sprung up. Elbows are double-jointed and can be bent deeper than expected despite the thick arms.

The wrists are connected with ball joints. The wrists can be snapped at the ball joint receiving parts on the wrist side. This allows the figure to be posed in a protective shade pose.

The hip joints and the base of the legs can be swung back and forth.

The armor behind the knees and the caterpillar parts on the shins can be retracted, so that they do not interfere with bending the knees.

The pushed-in caterpillar can be returned to its original position by pushing in the lower part.

After bending the knee, the drill section can also be directed upward. During this action, the armoring below the knee moves in tandem.

The knee is bent with the hip base position moved forward. The knee can be bent deeply for a sturdy leg.

The upper thighs can also be rolled and rotated. As an action figure, it boasts an excellent range of motion.

The wing also has a movable part, and the left and right blocks can swing back.

The backpack and gadget gaos are connected by arms. Use it well depending on your posing.

Gadget Feather Deployment!

Let's continue to reproduce the gadget feather deployment state.

Gadget Feather!

Deploy the large parts on both sides of the wing outward.

Disassemble the wing parts as shown on the right side of the image and reassemble them as shown on the left side of the image.

The "AMAKUNI Kishin" had a gimmick in which each part deploys in tandem, but it would be too complicated to reproduce it in a plastic kit, so this time, the parts are reassembled. The extra parts have been reduced to make it look better.

Rear view of the reconstructed deployed state. The "eye" detail of the wing is impressive. The parts of the wing that are deployed above the eyes can be lifted up to this level. This gimmick is AMAKUNI's own unique gimmick, but I think it has a good momentum as an atmosphere.

The gadget feathers can be deployed, thus making the figure even more divine. I would like to try displaying it in a floating state.

When a part of the back part of the waist is removed, two types of holes of different thicknesses appear. This time, we are trying to pose the figure by connecting a commercially available display pedestal to the joint hole at the lower part of the waist.

Expressive action at hand!

Next is Blokun Magnum. The connection to the arm is a shaft connection. The cross-section of the arm is also detailed.

Blow Kun Magnum!

If you use a commercially available stand, you can recreate the scene where Blow Kun Magnum is released.

Left and right wrists are also included with flat hand parts.

Protect Shade!

The red part of the left forearm has been replaced with the protector shade in its deployed state. The wrists can also be replaced with dedicated parts.

From another angle. Thanks to the well-positioned movable parts, powerful poses are possible.

Movable and action points with attention to detail

Genesic Bolt!

Gareon's mouth can be opened and closed.

The modeling inside the upper jaw includes mechanical details reminiscent of the oral cavity of a real cat.

The ejection port of the protection bolt is also movable.

Of course, the Blokun Bolt side is also movable.

And each of them can be reproduced in the state just before the bolt is ejected.

Bolting Driver!

The bolting driver is connected to the ball joint on the left wrist. Painting the red color on the black color is not easy, so it is nice that it is a pre-painted part.

Each bolt can be connected to the tip.

Haaaaah !!!!"

The gadget feathers are deployed and the bolting driver is used to reproduce the powerful composition of the bolting driver rushing forward.

Will! Knife!

Will knife is connected to the removed right wrist.

The clear parts of the blade are also detailed for a beautiful appearance.

From another angle.

Strait drill!

Spiral Drill!

And the special one!

Gadget Tool!

Black wrists with gadget tools are also included!

Hell and Heaven!

Gem-Gil-Gun-Go-Gufo..."

And Hell and Heaven wrists are also included!

Hmph!

Whee-taaaah!"

How was it? Although decals are attached, the action is the same, so we hope this will be a reference that you can enjoy this level of action poses even with the figure unassembled.

Finally, just two comparisons.

This is a two-shot with the "Great Exhauser" (pre-painted), also on sale from Kotobukiya. The atmosphere of the kits are quite different due to the different series, but it is nice to be able to put them together with the first heroes in this way.

Here are two shots with the original "AMAKUNI Kishin Genesic GaoGaiGar.

I had heard that the kit had been reduced in size, but it's not as small as I thought it would be! Isn't this a bargain!

There are still six months left until the release of the product, but reservations are now being accepted at hobby stores and online stores nationwide. (Some stores have already closed reservations depending on their stock.)

In addition, the Hobby Japan Online Shop and the Kotobukiya Online Shop are offering original purchase benefits!

We hope that this article will be of help to you in your purchasing decision.

Here it is! The key to victory!
