The title of the latest live-action "Kingdom" movie has been decided as "Kingdom: Return of the Generals," and it will be released on July 12, 2024 (Friday).

Set in the Spring and Autumn Warring States Period of China, the manga "Kingdom" (Yasuhisa Hara/Shueisha) tells the story of a boy, Nobu (Kento Yamazaki), who dreams of becoming the greatest general in the world, and a young king, Yomei (Ryo Yoshizawa), who aims to unify China. The manga has also achieved the feat of becoming the No. 1 live-action Japanese movie of the year for three consecutive years (as of December 12), with "Kingdom" released in 2019, "Kingdom 2: To the Faraway Land" released in 2022, and "Kingdom: The Flame of Fate" released in 2023.

The title of the latest film is "Kingdom: Return of the Generals.
The latest film depicts the continuation of the "Battle of Mayang," the all-out battle between Nobu and Wang Ki against the neighboring country, Cho, in the previous film, "The Flame of Fate. The film is directed by Shinsuke Sato, who also directed the previous film, and stars Kento Yamazaki as the main character Shin, who aspires to become a great general; Ryo Yoshizawa as the young King of Qin, Eisei; Kanna Hashimoto as Karyoten, an apprentice military strategist; and Kana Kiyoyana as the Qiang'i, who fights with Shin as second in command of the Flying Brigade. The cast includes Kanna Hashimoto as Karyoten, who is working hard as the deputy commander of the Qiang'i Qiang Corps, and Takao Osawa as Qiang'i Qiang, who returns to the battlefield as the general of the Qin army to challenge the "Battle of Banyang".

Furthermore, in this film, the two superb cast members, whose existence was never revealed until the theatrical release of "The Flame of Fate," and whose appearance made those who saw them tremble, will attack the Qin army with a fury. Houken (Koji Yoshikawa), the most powerful enemy of the Qin Dynasty, is called the "god of war," who fought a fateful battle with Wang Qi at Banyang in the past, and Li Moku (Shun Oguri), a mysterious military strategist who never appears on the battlefield but watches over the war situation with a presence unrivaled by any other. And Yang Danhe (Masami Nagasawa), the beautiful king with the most powerful military force in the mountain world, who made a pact with King Qin in the first film, is confronted with a shocking sight in the north... The story takes place during the Spring and Autumn period of the Warring States period in China, a time when great generals risked their lives to advance through the ages. Nobu, who grew up as a war orphan, meets the young King of Qin, Isei, who is the exact duplicate of his late best friend, and as fate would have it, he sets his sights on unifying China. He is guided by his destiny to unify China, and to achieve his dream of becoming the greatest general in all the land.

In order to counter the sudden invasion of Zhao, a neighboring country, Yu Zheng appoints Wang Qi, a legendary general who had been away from war for a long time, as his general-in-chief. Wang Qi gives the name "Fei Xin Tai" to his unit, and Shin, together with the great general he admires so much, takes on the "Battle of Mayang," a battle that could determine the fate of the Qin Dynasty. Against overwhelming odds, Nobu and his men succeeded in routing the Zhao army, and they rejoiced in their victory.

The Qin army seemed to be steadily advancing on the path to victory, but a suspicious shadow was creeping toward the Flying Brigade....
The man's name was Bingyan, the true general of the Zhao army. The flying squad suffered an unprecedentedly devastating blow when the overwhelmingly powerful god of war swooped down on them, and they were scattered in the forest at night, barely surviving.

At the same time, Yang Danhe, a mountain folk who witnessed the shocking massacre in the northern lands, was stunned by the existence of another monster lurking in Zhao. This man was the military strategist Li Moku, who was looking down on the "Battle of Mayang" from a high vantage point.
